Replace soda by:
Every time you have a drink ping and elastic band on your wrist. it works for some. It associates soda with pain then and gradually you don't want any (has to be hard ping). Or chew gum when you want a soda (distracts) my friend tried the pain thin when she wanted to quit smoking and it worked. It works for some.
Or drink a juice instead.

Add some lemon or lime to your water. It is wise that you no longer want to drink sodas. Drinking a lot of soda is a great way to gain weight from all the sugar and to get diabetes.

There is a great sweetener as natural as sugar derived from the green leaf of the stevia plant. In the backyard, I've got my own stevia plant. I just pick leaves off, wash them and chop them up and eat them with fruit salad or breakfast cereal, etc. It's as edible as spinach and totally healthy and harmless. Buy the powdered extract... it's concentrated (one pinch is equal to a tablespoon of sugar) and put it in a pitcher with lemon juice - add water and enjoy!!
Take it in your purse so when you go to a soda fountain, put the powder in the cup, add lemons/limes then pour in soda water!

I just don't understand why this plant isn't known and used everywhere!!

Drink water with a slice of lemon on top to take away that "just out of the chemical plant" taste-mmm mmm.. Or you might try putting just a little sugar in it to sweeten it. Or switch to tea.

As for quitting soda...Go COLD TURKEY, BABE!

It takes 8 weeks to completley break a habit.

A simple way of dealing with your problem is to put a squeeze of lemon juice in water. This gives it a hint of flavor, but it's quite healthy.
