they are adorable but can be expensive. They often have back probelms especially with age, since they have little support for such a long spine. And their behavior holds true to what they were bred for!! they're so long because they were bred to chase rabbits into holes and go in to retrieve them. tiny little hunters. Anyone that has a dachshund will tell you that they have not dissapointed their fore-breeders! cute as buttons though :)
