I wonder if there's another god from a different religion that suffered and died for the salvation of his people.

Mithra, who's "birthday was adopted by Christians in the 4th century A.D. as the birth of Christ" and dined with 12 disciples before "returning to heaven." The religion based around him was started in the 1st century BC.

There are probably similar traditions in other religions, but I don't know enough to even provide a link.

Well, many different cultures have their own form of god. I mean you can't tell a Japanese person about god in French. If that's a good enough analogy. Maybe the story gets changed like have you ever played the game telephone? Same thing happens with religion. I'm sure that their was someone who died for their sins. I honestly think that no religion is wrong all that matters is that you have faith, remember religion is just they way you want to worship.

Hello.. :)

Jesus said: I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

1 Corinthians 15

3 ¶ For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; Is. 53.5-12

4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures: Ps. 16.8-10 · Hos. 6.2

5 and that he was seen of Cephas, Lk. 24.34 then of the twelve: Mt. 28.16, 17 · Mk. 16.14 · Lk. 24.36 · Joh. 20.19

6 after that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

Read Greek legends, The idea of Jesus was way before Christians ever existed. SO as Easter, So as trinity.
Most of NT is from pagan different religions. Not to say it was copied but influence was all over the place.

Therefore Jesus and money exist.

Most people would think that it is not possible for God to die. So no.
The idea of suffering for others would be found in all religions. Compassion and selfless love are not unique to Christianity.

I think Christianity is the only religion that condemns all to eternal damnation in Hell for the sins of someone else. Can you think of another God that did that?

I think the question is WHY is this important? Why do we need for someone else to pay for our own shortcomings? Why cannot we take responsibility for our own actions in this lifetime and pay for them in the hereafter? I think it's awfully presumptuous of Jesus to take responsibility for the sins committed by makind using the free will given to them by God.

but i've never understood how he died for my sins

what does one thing have to do with the other?

i've committed sins and jesus died, what is the tie in? why did God want to have his son tortured? couldnt he have forgiven us without this brutalizing of his son?

Mohammed or Buddah never claimed to be God, but their believers treat them like they were.
