Why not? You never know what tomorrow will hold and why cheat yourself? Besides, God says not to. And, if you don't believe in God, maybe you should seek Him and ask Him about it first. I mean, how can you just quit life? Seems to me like there would be some real punishment for not finishing the game...

Why do it? To escape some terrible pain? How do they know that they are by committing suicide? So, can that be a very good reason to do it?
To make some else feel pain? How are they certain this will happen by committing suicide? Can that be a very good reason to do it?
To no longer be troubled by the pressure that life has heaped on them? A very good reason? Not when, by committing suicide, they still have no garauntees this will work out for them either?
Because they are horrifically humiliated and can not face the shame? Would you really rather not see how it turns out? Is it better for you to rot in some very unhappy place, alone, than to give people the opportunity to "get over it?"
I guess then, I would like my answer to be, step up to your humanly challenges, by doing your part by lighting just one little candle instead of just cursing the dark. Get involved with your family and neighbors and go bowling or go buy some lemonaid from the little kid next door. When you do, dont forget to see life through theirsparkly eyes and remember what it felt like to run a neighborhood lemonaid stand. That feeling right there is the reason people shouldn't do it. Get it back, that way you once saw life, and give it to as many people as you can and you'll know that you really have made a difference, because, no matter how you choose to feel right now, I know exactly how you felt when you were marveling at the stars when you were little, or the first time you rode the bike by yourself. It was glorious don,t you remember? No greater feeling had been felt up to that point. Just feel that again and make it your trip to give this to everyone. The whole of mankind will be that much better off when you do. Dont go and figure that there will be much of a reason to want to just curl up and die because I dont think that there is one.
If you need love, then go get loved. If you need hope, then grab on. If you need to bellieve in something then believe that you possess the ability to make something unimagineable happen and do it. Light that candle and stop wasting forever on cursing that dark.

Most suicidal people are depressed, and want to escape how they are feeling. When you are depressed you don't think life can get better, that it will always be just how it is and you can't escape. This is a LIE! The only true constant in life is change. Things are always changing. If you are thinking of suicide because you feel this way...get help! Once you get through the depression you will know life is worth living, and you won't want to die any longer. You can be happy. You can see and enjoy the beauty around you again. But if you suicide that is the end. There are no second chances to make anything better.
Life = Hope (especially when you can't FEEL it); Death=Nothing

I think that for a person to commit suicide there are several underling factors. I think that when a person kills themselves it hurts far more people than the pain that was the cause of the suicide. For a person to live out their life and die of natural causes(not wrecks, murder, etc)..is a natural course. The people who are left behind to pick up the pieces are ones that I truly feel sorry for-not the person who died-for they are dead the pain is gone-not for the living.

When a human don't find any help, understanding, from nobody, even those called loved ones.
When a life become a hell, and no belief in any hope, when the horizon look dark and cloudy, a human could feel that is time to go.

I think a person must be incredibly desperate to commit suicide, it is such a shame there is such a stigma about mental health problems that people are drawn to suicide. I do not think there is any excuse for people who kill themselves to get out of trouble (murders etc). I just feel sorry for the poor kids who kill themselves who think there is no other way out, there should be more mental health outreach services for people with depression.

For someone to make their last act of life , such a selfish one -and not think of those who love them..would probably end the very notion ; IF one would think of who they leave behind.
Suicide is usually to rid oneself of pain ( or trouble); but every problem has a solution. For everyone who thinks they have no-one to talk to ..they leave behind many grieving loved ones who are left to wonder why they didn't come to them . Suicide is a sin . If only those contemplating that dreadful act , would just one day decide to stop dwelling in their pain-they would see the beauty in each new day ; as well as in themselves .

Unfortunatly suicide is not chosen. Suicide occurs when the pain exceeds the resourses to cope with the pain.

Because, "Each day is a gift" (Flavia quote, I believe).
Because it is against the law and The Ten Commandments.
Because even if we fail, we can succeed in the future.
Because no matter how big our problems are, there will be a cure--with patience.
Because, "This, too shall pass."
