The trick - your trick - is to discover what her really loves. What motivates him. Some dogs love food rewards of different types, some love a toy, some a clicker, some just want a pat on the head, or a "good dog". It depends on your dog.
Experiment with some different types of rewards and you'll soon have him excited to try new tricks.

You just have to keep pushing. I had to train a 3 year old doberman from scratch. Her previous owner beat her and she did not know how to do anything. Just keep plugging away. And lots of treats.

LOTS of treats!! I taught my 8 yr old boxer to speak quitely (instead of his LOUD booming bark) but it took a couple of weeks & lots of treats
