Do you morons not understand economics at all? Prices will only go up as high as people are willing to pay! Did none of you have an econ class in high school? Did you even go to high school?

While I am on the subject of things you morons are wrong about, lets get this out there as well. I am just as Native as ANY Indian by virtue of the fact I was born her. I have worked in the fields and in construction as well as my entire family, so Americans not doing the jobs holds about as much water as a strainer. I am not a racist, but I am prejudiced against ignorance and just plain stupidity.

And for the crux of my question, why should illegals here be allowed amnesty? What makes them so much more special than the millions of others that want to come here, but are doing it the right way? Why should we tell everyone else doing things the right way "Tough luck, it pays to be a criminal."?

Haha, Holy Cow. Can't come up with an intellectual comment, so you throw out an insult disguised as one.... Nice try pal.

Yea PANCHA. There is a human element to it. It is not fair to the people doing it right. That is the part of the "Human Element" you love to ignore. The illegals didn't seem to mind cutting in line either....

Your argument is akin to saying a "Why through that murderer in jail? The damage is already done, lets set him free." I know the example is extreme, but it is a good analogy.

You still never gave me one logical reason why they should be allowed to stay. I know you never will either.

einstein, clever handle by the way, where did I accuse the "Mexicans", as you so eloquently put it, of anything? They only thing I accused them of was breaking the law coming into this country illegally, which isn't an accusation if they are illegal, it is the truth. Where did I even use the word Mexican in my question?

You know for having a handle like einstein, you sure are not very smart. Or is reading comprehension just not your bag? Besides you aren't even from here. Your opinion means squat.

Thank you sqwirlsgirl, some sign of intelligent life from the supporters side. To answer your question about deportation. If we get laws set up to penalize employers enough to make it cost prohibitive(jail time for instance) and actually enforce said laws, we won't have to. They will do exactly like you said. They will leave on their own.

Your humanity issue.... I don't even know where to begin.... I will just say this instead, I STRONGLY disagree with your logic here. The only fair thing to do is to not grant amnesty.... You know I am right about that too. Thank you for the breathe of fresh air, even though your logic is a bit flawed.

didyouhearthatfolks, I find it VERY hard to believe you took economics. Did you pay attention at all? The prices will only go up to what people are willing to pay. Do you not get that? It is supply and demand! They can not charge more than that because they will lose money. I consider gas prices extremely low considering the huge demand for it..... They could raise it up to $6-7, and people would STILL buy it.

The same people who believe prices are going to skyrocket if we evict the illegals also believe that increasing minimum wage will improve the quality of life for the poor. Seems in this country every one is entitled to wealth, whether they sling burgers for McDonald's or if they are CEO of a fortune 500.

Seems to alot of people, riches should be doled out as a human right rather than something a human has to earn.

Exactly, supply and demand. If there is no demand(people not buying) then the supply would be too much and the prices would fall, so they could get rid of product.

I work construction too. Concrete. It is hard back breaking labor sometimes. I am an American born here as well, and it makes me sick the people that say they do jobs that no one wants to do! How do they think those jobs got done before the illegals came here? Ignorant people!

Amnesty is not the answer. It solves nothing. The only thing it does is promote more illegals. If we grant amnesty, then this is sending the message that illegals can come here and hopefully some day get a free pass. This is straight up ABSURD!!!!

PANCHA: yea, let's let everyone who breaks the law go free. You maa'm are the main problem with this country. Let people break the law and then reward them for it? What a joke!

Six Questions......I will answer with MY answer as best I can.

1. Yes I understand economics and completely agree that lettuce is not going to cost me 5 dollars if farm workers were paid well.
2. Yes I had an economics class in high school (that was a while ago though).....college too as I recall.
3. Yes I went to high school......(don't understand why I needed to tell you that BUT since you asked....I answered.
4. Why should illegals be allowed amnesty. Well I can only speak for myself and what I have learned and read and have come up with. I see no other logical solution. Once the borders are secure and the illegal flow is stopped or at least minimized to less than 10 percent....I think amnesty should be granted (with a few guidelines.....stringent guidelines). Deportation of 12 million people will be handled how? You think they are going to say OK and walk back peacefully? Are we going to deputize everyone and say "catch em...when you see em". There is CHAOS now just talking about it....what happens when it happens.....I see blood and civil undoing. So I guess for me it one part self-preservation AND
5. Humanity......yep.....I am going there as well. This issue has been largely ignored until now. We all knew it was going on. Years and years ago my Dad used to discuss migrant worker uprisings and I would venture to guess that not too many were legal migrants. So we have allowed these people to live here for the last 20 years and turned a blind eye to it and NOW want to get pissy.....that doesn't work for me.....WHY weren't we forming GROUPS over the years.....why weren't we electing politicians who took a stand against this?
6. No I don't agree with the illegal aspect of how they entered....that is something I cannot defend or even justify....so I won't. In this situation it just may pay to be a criminal who has committed ONE crime.....that remains to be seen.

Did I answer all of the questions.....Yep....think I did.

It's actually the opposite for farm products. Prices will go down if illegals are not hired. How?

Farmers have not invested in technology for many years. There are two reasons why they don't have to. 1) the high Tariffs on foreign farm products and 2) cheap illegal labor.

There are some statistics out there that if farmers invested in technology that the overall price of farming would be even less than having cheap labor. Problem is that the farmers have no incentive to make huge investments because they're bottom line won't change much.

Prices will always go up--greedy people

But not because Illegals left--although some might make that excuse.

We see the points you are making-life will be just fine if Illegals go home.

No Amnesty for law breakers--they don't deserve a reward for breaking laws no matter what the reasons. And it is rude and wrong to others who do and did it the right way.

It won't pay them in the end--not at all.

The problem is that prices will skyrocket because we expect them to. We will be conditioned to expect it if anything constructive is done about illegal immigration. Companies will take advantage of us and the government will turn a blind eye as punishment for us not letting them have their fiendishly outrageous profits from hiring illegals. I think the gas prices are punishment for the president's low ratings and not letting him turn our seaports over to foreigners. I did take economic classes, though it's been a while, but I also keep in mind who is in charge and the crazy things he can get away with because he says so.

Straight A's in econ - Dose $5.00 a gallon of gas mean sky rocket?

Well i use to do some of those jobs, but i got smarter.

The illegals are paying the police, our police department only thinks about enforcing laws on blacks.

Right on!!!! I am so tired of all these excuses! They should defiantly not give amnesty to illegals. That is wrong! I think we should round em' up. At least as many as we can find. Of course shut down the border!

You need to relax and focus. Think about what you're trying to say before you spew out a bunch of aimless drivel. As it is you sound like a dim witted and incredibly pissed off high school kid. I don't mean this as an insult. If you are in fact a dim witted teen, take heart: someday you might grow out of it.

I will answer the last part of your question.
They are already here.Thats why they should get amnesty.Deporting millions of ppl isn't feasible.
All of you who are against amnesty forget that there is a human element to this situation.Thats why some are called racist.Because you sometimes talk about them like they are sub-human.
