If historians write about something that does not make it real. Many have written that the world was flat, so that must mean it is. If so, then go find where it drops off. Many people have died for lies. There are many cults where all kill themselves because they fall for lies. Christianity is one of those lies. The only reason the cult called Christianity spread is because its lies sounded better than many others. 500 say they say him, well that is called group mind. One says they say something, that puts the idea in the heads of the others, so they say they saw it. It is like when a group of people are in the dark, and one says they saw something, even though the others did not see anything, they say they did. An other explanation is a growing story. Someone saw Jesus eyelid move (maybe from the wind) and that story of him still being alive spreads and grows. Maybe he never died, and was a regular man playing a joke. No matter what, it is not hard to get 500 to think they saw some thing they did not. Look at UFOs or Santa. More than 500 say they saw Santa. These occurrences/accounts do not prove anything. Don't fall for everything you are told. An imaginary friend or the tooth fairy are believed by many, and are no more ridiculous. How do you know men did not make this all up 200 years ago, or 2000 years ago. How can anyone say there was a Jesus?

One must consider the concept of the words leading to a myth. An event, a fact becomes a story, then becomes, fiction, then a tale, then a legend. That legend with the passing of time fades, to interpretation and becomes fables, and parables, through interpretation, they become myth. Much Like, Giants, Dragons, Fairies, Elves and The Little People, all of which we see in our day to day life. All myths have some basis in fact, and truth, enrolled in hyperbole and exaggeration to give the story more meaning, and /or zest. Even today, wording and pictorials used to describe an event, change due to the viewpoint of the observer, and much of the actual transgressions and actions are obscured due to that viewpoint. Yes Jesus was a real man, and yes he stood again three days after his crucifixion. All it means is that one would have to believe what one is told, or try to find the natural truth for your self. That is the difference between gullible and investigative. So. yes Jesus was real, are the events spoken of in his time reality, you must be the judge of such things, or believe that you may understand, and into mythology you may one day go yourself, and understand that to be a myth is not necessarily a bad thing. All things in life , past, present and future are relevant to all things, Plant, Animal, Mineral, Ethereal, or not. It's all perception!

That Jesus lived is not in doubt, don't set up a "straw man" argument that nobody believes in, just so you can shoot it down. People don't doubt that Jesus lived. They don't doubt that he died, but they do doubt that he magically returned from the dead. The claim is preposterous and there is no recent events anything like this. It is a wild story.
What were the names of the 500 eye witnesses? How was his death established? Who took their testimony? What was the exact custody of that testimony from the witnesses to the bible you read now? How do you know that things were not added and removed to make it seem like Jesus rose from the dead?
You cannot answer any of these questions, in fact you have to rely on blind trust that out of many thousands of people along the chain NOBODY "faked it up" a little, and you need to be certain about that. Don't pretend to have access to truth when it is based on such flimsy evidence. Even when the witnesses are alive "hearsay" is not adequate evidence.
You may believe that a man was dead and then came back from the dead and appeared to people and performed miracles, that is your right. But don't suggest you have irrefutable proof, because you have nothing.

Actually, Jesus WAS a con-man. His entire ministry was based on the Jewish practice of exorcism. His "miracles" were a carbon copy of those performed by Apollonuis of Tyana, a pagan. It's a cheap rip off all the way from the virgin birth to the Resurrection. Apollonius ressurection was also witnessed by many people. One major difference in the stories is that Apollonius was able to convince real priests of his identity after death and ressurection, where Jesus was not. The first Christian priests were the disciples of Jesus.
Since Apollonius ministry was in full swing before Jesus started his ministry, it is entirely likely that his miracles were inspired by those of Apollonius.
Furthermore, Jesus was not born of a virgin. The geneologies given in the Bible state that he is a direct descendant from David on Josephs side. That means that Joseph and Mary were knocking boots, and Jesus was spawned by Joseph, not God.
Later, Paul states that Christianity "lives or dies" in the ressurection as a typical bait and switch tactic. If people concentrate on the ressurection fable, they won't be paying attention to the lie of the virgin birth.
The Apostles were killed for sedition, just like Jesus. In their age, their religion was against the law. There were precious few differences between religious and secular law in their time, so by breaking the law, they were also breaking their covenant with the religious powers. Attempting to convert people or to create a church was illegal. They were criminals who died for their crimes.
500 people seeing anyone after their death is not proof of their ressurection. Millions of people see Santa Claus every year. The news stations give live updates on his progress around the world every Christmas Eve. Now even if 99.9% of those sightings are wrong, and the news people are lying, that is still more evidence that Santa exists than a mere 500 dead people seeing Jesus within days or even weeks of his death. After all, Santa is seen every year, and Jesus hasn't made a verifiable appearance in almost 2000 years.

twins and look-alikes with injuries put on the wrists to make a myth look real. And if ROMANS caught up to jesus in judea they would have had no choice but to raise him up on the cross again.
so jesus witnessed The Lamb SLAIN as Larri b SL A I IV far in the future just like Ceasar in MARCH APRIL MAY noticed H A P(DI stitched together) RIL M(IVI stitched together) AY and knew god=7154=17=8=h thus h in heaven was Me.

I believe it was because there are many other stories in other older religions that also have a messiah that was the son of a god, was born on December 25th of a virgin, walked on water, raised people from the dead, healed the sick. The story of Horus the Egyptian god for one, but there are others also.
By the way, I'm not saying it is a myth, I'm just answering your question with what I have read.

I think because they can't come to terms with God walking among men. Many still expect the Lord to come back as a warrior, but when He sets his foot on the mount of Olives, He will already be pretty ticked off due to mans unbelief.
I find it hokey that people don't believe the Bible, the God inspired (breathed) Word, but are quick to believe in aliens or that we evolved from a blob or a dot that just one day exploded.
One day, we will ALL profess the name of Jesus Christ.

REAL person, yes. I believe that. Prophet, maybe. But the superhero that is portrayed in the Bible? Hardly.
But do you truly believe he was the son of the Almighty, beyond the sense that in a way we are all children of the Almighty?
Because I gotta tell ya, that whole "divine conception" thing doesn't really work for me.
Jesus was human, and a good human at that. Anything beyond that is mere fabrication.

I don't think too many people believe that Jesus is a myth. Rather some doubt many of the things that were written about him like 100 years after he died.

LOL!!!
Tacitus wrote about "jesus" more than a hundred years after the supposed death of 'jesus". Same goes for Josephus the fraud as he is known in historical circles.
Thier rationale for believing he was real is that they believed he was real. Sort of the way a child believes in the tooth fairy because they believe he is real because she left me .50 under my pillow...
See the circular logic wrapped in Pious Fraud?
Go read a book sonny, and not a book of outdated jewish mythology either...
