There is no middle ground with Christ. You either believe in Him and accept all he says or you deny Him, spit on Him, and nail him to a cross. If you say you can't decide, you've already answered the question. So, which is it.

There are many opinions on Religion and science. I do not wish to mislead anyone in their beliefs but here are some basic facts. Religion, no matter what flavor, was created by early man from fear of the unknown. This is not to say that worship is bad. I would like to state that too many religions have taken it upon themselves to decide where, when, and how the Creator accomplished this feat. I totally believe that the Creator does, always has, and always will exist! I do not however believe that there is one person on the face of the Earth who has the right to decide how the Creator performed this miracle! If the Creator chose to take billions of years then so be it! If evolution was part of his plan I can deal with it. This brings me to the second point, The Creator did not write the bibles, scrolls, or any other documentation we use in our religions. These items were written by many people and are simply visions of how they perceived the Creators message. I firmly believe that what we call evolution was Gods method of creation. Evolution is apparent everywhere you look. I also believe there is life elsewhere in the universe. Nowhere does it state that the Creator didnt create life elsewhere. This assumption was made by man. Humans are vain but feeble, delicate creatures who believe they are the superior life form. God instilled in us the first law which is the instinct for survival. Every living thing has this primordial instinct. It is up to us to decide which path we will take in order to survive. If we err, we will pay the price. I also believe the need for the exploration of space is a must! It is a well established fact that our planet will not live forever and if we want to survive we must leave this planet. As far as man being a destructive creature, man is a naturally occurring event on this planet. If man were never created I am sure some other life form here could destroy its own civilization. The lowly cockroach alone could destroy the very ecosystem that keeps it alive in time. A majority of people dont have a clue on how large the universe is. Most people cant tell the difference between a solar system, a galaxy, and a universe! This annoys me and I only wish that they new. God has given us a most valuable tool and that is the power to think. Religion now needs to come up from the stoneage beliefs and help rather than hinder our quest for survival. Most religions are based upon early man and are ancient and archaic methods of worship! Christianity for instance, at one time, crucified, maimed, murdered, tortured, and disfigured people for their beliefs! The queen of england was going to have old Chris Columbus put to death for heresy until she found she might make profit from his journey!

Nope. I believe in things that can be proven. There is nothing in this world that I can just say "wow... that must be Gods work." I don't know why people have to suffer, even if it is to learn lessons. I don't think people should have to pay for the sins of their past lives because it is the past. Like, I have a friend who is a great person, does charity work, is giving and loving. She's 27. She just finished radiation for breast cancer, had a masecotmy, found out that she couldn't have children. Then two days ago, had a seizure and found out she had a brain tumor. Oh yea... and she's supposed to be getting married in October. Why would "he" do that to someone who never did anything wrong with live and just lived it. I think its just too cruel. Why would God be cruel? So I will choose not to believe.

and if you are wondering...my friend was a believer too.

What a horrible thing to say. You call yourself christian but try to lay down God's laws. Open your mind and realize that you are doing yourself an injustice by pretending that you have all the right and wrong answers. Love your God and do not judge. Those are pretty simple yet so hard for so many. I understand in the three and one, but if you separate God and Jesus than you are the one who is committing idolatry. Your heart must be with God, THE creator. Jesus is a part of that God, not a God. So be careful what you preach, when you are found not to be God yourself and let others into God's kingdom, you may be able to understand God's never ending love better.

That's an idiotic question...I don't decry Jesus, nor his teachings...I'm glad that he means so much to so many...I believe he was probably a real man and that HIS intentions (though not those of his disciples) were probably even good...I wouldn't have spit on him, wouldn't have nailed him to the cross...but I don't believe his teachings and I don't think he was the son of God...

So there you go- no indecision, but a ton of middle ground, and a perfectly acceptable position to hold...

In many ways you have already answered your own question. Let me just say that the purpose of life is to serve God. Nothing else gives satisfaction, all other belief systems may sound interesting and may have their own merit, but they are not the purpose of life. Only your creator is the source of your life and after you have completed your journey here you will (yes, you will) stand in front of him to give an account of your life here. He created you with a plan and if you choose to ignore him, then you will have your part in the lake of fire along with the other religions and philosophers that rejected God.
That is the honest truth.
Mr. M on do you believe.

I believe in the Holy Trinity which is (for those who might not know) God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was, is and always will be, God the Son sent to this earth in physical form to atone for Mans sin. It was that sin that nailed Christ to the cross, not non-believers. Our job as true Christians is to try to spread the gospel and try to reach out to non-believers, not condemn them.

Do not believe something simply because you have heard it. Do not believe anything simply because it has been handed down for many generations. Do not believe anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe anything simply because it is written in Holy Scriptures. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of teachers, elders, or wise men. Believe only after careful observation and analysis, when you find that it agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all. Then accept it, and live up to it.

Take your message to the pulpit and do not hide behind a made up name on the internet. No man follows another man unknowingly unless he is a fool. You score no points in witnessing here by trials of others, you judge no man, you just have your opinions, now who follows whom? To be a follower of the Christ means you believe by faith, good share your faith with others, do not sheer the sheep then toss aside the body.
