Well, I am a saved and ACTIVE Christian and I wear dresses, skirts and pants! I don't think that if you wear pants you are disobeying the word of God. The scripture that most people use to justify a woman not wearing pants is the one where God talks about women not dressing as men. He is not talking about not wearing pants--- in those days, no one wore pants..they hadn't been invented!!

What we believe God is talking about is carrying yourself as a woman ie: keeping yourself up neatly, and wearing clothes that were designed for women- and certainly there are pants designed for women!

...so if you like skirts and dresses...wear 'em, if you like pants...wear 'em!!!

You can trust that you won't be going to hell for either one!

Skirts are a culteral statement that you are a woman. Just look at the univesal signs on bathrooms to see this.

The Bible prohibits clothing worn by both men and women 1Corinthians 6:9-11, 1Timothy 9-11, in which the Greek words used imply those which dress like the opposite, Dueteronomy 22:5.

By the way 1Corinthians 11 tells us the head covering worn in public is a sign of femininity also. Only in recent times have women went out in public without a hat or something on the head. Even the Suffragettes wore large hats to their non-violent protest to earn the right to vote. Isaiah 47:1-4 tells us that this is how Yahu'eh the Creator also veiws modesty versus nakedness.

Romans 14:23 tells us ...that which is not of faith is sin, so if you have a question whether you as a woman should be wearing pants which were originally only worn by men in American society until women went out into the factories in WW2 to help the war effort, then you would be better off to err on the side of caution and wear only dresses.

Consider:

Titus 2:3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

1Kepha/Peter3:1Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
2While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
3Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
5For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
6Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

I really think with all the immorality and things that are rampant in our culture men should be hearing clothing that is loose and covers up thier loins also. A tunic to the middle of the thighs over thier pants would be appropriate.

The word of God speaks to modesty correct? Pants can be just as modest (or even more so) as skirts. My mother attends a very conservative church where pants on women aren't allowed. I'm definitely more liberal.

Long skirts no makeup or jewelery. He doesn't want us calling attention to ourselves and away from Him. No shaving or plucking either. But then He says to obey our husbands. So whatever.
