You would be wise to take your cat to the vet. The vet will weigh your cat and tell you what foods to give her. He or she may want to exam her too in case she has any underlying physical problems that you are not aware of. Pets are like people sometimes, they get sick with all kinds of ailments just like humans do. They need medical attention too and a thorough exam won't hurt your cat any.

My vet said the average weight for a domestic short hair cat is 8-9 lbs. So your cat may need a diet to prevent diseases.

Adult American Shorthair cats will usually weigh 10 - 14 pounds for the males and 10 - 12 pounds for the female.

that's sounds like a good weight, i have two black cats that weigh 11 and 12 pounds, my siamese weighs 13 and the littlest (who's a year and a half weighs about 7)

Oh sure! each of the time lol, it makes me leap up with fright and ask for forgiveness (cats call) and then I realize this is in straight forward words between the cats rubber balls that i'm stepping on. that is so humorous even as that takes position! lol

Um, hmm...9-12 lbs. Not exaclty sure. I read something like it in a book. Try checking with your local library.

i know someone that had one that was almost 21lb they had to put it on a diet and it have alot of health problem's so maybe you should watch how much it eats and see how much running and stuff it Doe's and gets
