Read to her, take her to the park, tell her stories, play games with her, just anything really...That's great you want to spend time with your daughter :)

When you are spending time with her spen the time WITH her. Turn off the cellphone, the TV, put the paper away and do mom/daughter stuff. Sorry, mom/child stuff because you can take fishing, to the ballgame, out to work on the yard or just build a tent in the living room and get under it and giggle. She doesn't care about how much time or quality of time. She just knows that she is with mom and that's what is important.

Teach her how to interact with other children. If she is an only child , she'll need interaction with others her age . Take her to Play land areas for little kids . Little ones are naturally self centered until they have experience with interacting with other kids their age . At five , though , she should be past that stage to a large extent .Take her to library days where they have story time for her age group . Look in the telephone directory ; depending upon where you live , there are "dress-up" play-lands where kids can have a ball. Any time spent with your child is quality time when you are doing things she likes to do . The best thing you can do for her is to read to her every night at bedtime .The more you read to her the more she will want to read .The more she reads the more she will learn when she gets to school .

Do the things that she likes to do. Whether it is going to the park, the pool, playing tea party. Just do the things that she enjoys. My 6 year old really likes to bike ride, so we do that a lot in the evenings. You could even teach her something new over the summer. My kids just learned how to play Gin Rummy. They really like playing cards, and always want to learn new ones. And I once heard you don't judge the time by quality, but by quantity. So if you are spending time with her, then she will remember it....no matter what you do.

Just spend time with her in general. Turn off the cell phone, forget about work and just color with her or play a game, have a tea party. These days we are all caught up with the world that we forget the simple things. Also, make sure you tell your little girl how loved she is.

Any time is quality time when you are spending it with your child.
You can do simple things like play ball outside, go out for ice cream, drive around, go to the park..clean house, dance to music, play with play-dough, and so on the possibilities are endless with a little imagination and a lot of laughter...pillow fight, play with make-up, dress up, bake cup cakes, watch a movie while eating popcorn.....painting, water colors, water balloons..
good luck and have tons of fun.

Any time that you spend one on one with a child is quality time. The child will love to be with you and To them they don't care what you do as long as you are with them. So many people have children and spend no time with them and that is sad.

Before she starts school take her on a vacation that you know she will enjoy, let her choose what she wants to do while on vacation (that is what I plan on doing with my son this summer).
Also, take her to the park, swimming, an amusement park, etc.
At home, my son enjoys riding his bike while he is outside, but when he comes in, we play games - Mouse Trap is his favorite!!!!
My 5 year old son starts school in August too!
Have a fun summer!!!

Let her spend time with you in your regular activities. As parents, we often think we have to do something so impressive for the time to be considered "quality". Yet, when I think of quality time with my parents, most of my memories consist of cooking with my mother, gardening with her, going for bike rides with my dad, stuff like that. Sometimes it's the simple things that are most memorable.

Just do whatever she likes to do, it doesn't matter what it is as long as she is the only person that you are concerned with. Parks, picnics, libraries are all good ideas but it still comes down to what it is she likes to do...Maybe have a makeover party with her dolls and do their hair, change their clothes, etc...Have a GREAT time because she'll be grown before you know it! God Bless You!!

Do fun day trips. A zoo. The beach. A park. Whatever she wants to do.
"Magical Mystery Days" are fun too - you pick the place and tell her it's a surprise. It can be anywhere you want to go. The mall. A movie. Lunch at a special place.
