How old is the puppy and what breed? This sounds like hypoglycemia (glucose drop) which is common in puppies especially toy breeds.

How often do you feed her? Make sure it is at least 2x a day, 3 if she will eat.

When she does this give her about a teaspoon of Karo syrup, you get it in the baking isle, it is clear. Put it right into her mouth as far in as you can. Wait about 20 minutes and if not better, give more.. Wait an hour or so, it should stop.

You can also get a product called nutri-cal from any pet store and give that.. I prefer to give both but I got a better result from the Karo.

I have a Yorkie and this happened to her, I totally freaked, but I knew what it was and what to do.. She kind of walked like she was drunk..

And yes they can die from it so make sure to feed her often. They will grow out of this by 4-5 months of age and you wont have to worry about it anymore..

Call the breeder that you got the pup from - they might have an answer.

Go get a second opinion from another vet - ASAP!

Be sure to buy premium food for her, not the cheap stuff, whatever type the vet and pet store and breeder recommend.

Be sure to take her for a walk each day - as long as she's healthy, plus lots of play and a few minutes of training here and there - you'll be exercising her body, relieving tension, and exercising her mind.

She's got the dry heaves, that's what's causing the jerking. But changing her food shouldn't make her puke, I'd take her to another dr. there are a variety of diseases that she could have that are making her puke, and if not treated right away she could die. I would find another vet right now, and try again. It could be Parvo, Distemper, or Corona Virus. Or she could have just ate something that didn't agree with her, but I've never had a dog throw up because I changed their food, diarrhea maybe, but not throwing up.

Sometimes my dog does that too when she's been fed too many treats from the dinner table. It's hard for some dogs to digest certain things. If you hear her stomach growling, its an indication that she's about to throw up again, I wouldn't feed her the same thing that made her throw up. If it goes on for a couple more days, I would suggest another vet visit.

Hope she gets better!

Get another opinion from another vet. When I switched my dog to a combination hard and soft food diet, he had no problems. I do not think that it is the food. Such convulsions can be caused by canine epilepsy, fever, parasites, chemical poisoning or some neurological disorder. If it happens again, get another vet's opinion.

Sounds like she has an upset tummy. Ask the vet if there is anything you can buy for her. Better yet, call a pet store and ask them. They tend to be more aware of the products out there. I hope she feels better soon!

if she's bloated and throwing up than she might have eaten to fast and swallowed to much air, this is especially common in larger dogs with deep bareled chests. if your really concerned and if she hasn't been to the vet recently you could take her back. her stomach might be twisting and excess gas could be caught. I don't want to scare you because this might not be the case but some dogs do die from it and if it flips once it's almost always going to flip again.

Is her bowel movement normal? If not take her back to the vet. Otherwise it may just be the food change. How long has she done this?

Unless shes having stomach spasms that lead to vomiting - It could be Grand Mal Seizures - you should have her checked out, years ago I had to put a 6 week old pup down for this.
