To gain one pound, you need to take in an EXTRA 3500 calories a day over your normal food. So you are really looking at 6000 calories a day.
Your metabolism would eventually get used, to a degree, to that intake, and you wouldn't gain weight that fast, but you would eventually gain enough to equal out to your intake.
A good way to average it is that you need 10 calories for every pound of weight to stay where you are. So at 180 lbs, about 1800 calories will keep you there for the most part.
If you were eating over 4000 calories a day for a long period of time, say hello to 400 pounds.

If you ate 3500 cal a day you would not gain 1LB of fat per day. your body needs energy to stay alive it would only store the excess calories that you did not burn up as fat. Your brain needs calories in the form of glucose in your blood stream to operate and even when you sleep you burn up calories. When you eat a meal a large percentage of calories in that meal are used to breakdown and digest the food. This is why you may feel hot after a meal. It is called the thermal effect of feeding. Calories are a measurement of heat.

a pound is approx equal to 3500 calories. so if your normal everday activities burn no calories then only eating 3500 would cause wieght gain. your body with not become used to it. what will happen is it will continue saving the excess calories as fat. you can not train your body to not gain weight. if you are interested in gaining weight the healthy way you may need to take into consideration supplements from a local vitamine store. if you want unhealthy gain then just keep stuffing more calories and you should get what you want.

There's a fine line of balance between your input and output.
The amount of calories you eat have to exceed the amount you burn when you excercise before you can gain weight.lt works the other way around if you want to lose weight.
If you eat 3500 calories a day (this is above RDA --Recommended Daily Allowance),l assume you want to gain weight.
Set your target...say,you want an extra 5kg...of 'pure fat' which you can convert to muscle with excercise....
This means that you must eat 3500 calories every other day for at least 25 days, during which you vary your excercise routine to confuse your body.
l said every other day because your body will reset its metabolism clock to meet the intake, based on the regularity of your excercise. So if you eat 3500 cal everyday, your body will get used to that, but if today you eat 2500 cal with your usual activities, and continue for 2days, then after this, eat 3500 for 2 days, then back to 2500 for 1 day,and 3500 for another 3 days...you get the point?
Your body cannot adapt to this and you will gain the weight you want.
lt works the other way round for weight loss as well.

well im not sure about the metabolism part but i do know that the correct way to loose fat and stay healthy is to burn more calories than you consume
You need to make sure you are eating healthy foods while still excercising
If you have a big appetite drink plenty of water so that you will feel full but not consume calories
But you should always eat
If you start to skip meals you will only be more hungry at your next meal and probably eat way too much
Remember, the average persons stomach is as big as a slice of pizza scrunched up into a ball
So you shouldnt be putting more food into your stomach than what fits
Also, it takes aproximately 15-20 minutes for your brain to realize that you are full
so eat slower and you will realize sooner when you are not hungry anymore

A small meal can comprise a chunk of fruit and some triscuits or different total wheat cracker. purely make effective that each and each and every time you devour you comprise total, uncooked ingredients (culmination, vegetables and grains), lean proteins and sturdy fat (nuts, avocado, olives). also attempt using cinnamon liberally because it stimulates the pancreas to furnish insulin; shake it on each and every thing. workout will also stimulate your metabolism. The result wears on after the workout is done and the muscle equipped will also clearly use more advantageous skill even at relax.
