Yorkshire is a big place, two national parks 10 major cities, where abouts in Yorkshire.
North is great, South has character to.
Avoid west, Leeds and in particular Bradford. Bradford is the biggest hovel I have every visited, and I did VSO in Rwanda. I was scared to be out after dark and it is the only time that has every happened to me.

Why hesitate?
Man, I only wish I was moving there with you... I've been away from Yorkshire for far too long.
What this 'Mybrainhurts' lass is saying down there is essentially true, but we don't do it to every foreigner... and if you stay for long enough, we'll let you join in. I see it as one of the charms of the area.
You may find this short clip instructive -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xe1a1wHxTyo&search=four%20yorkshiremen :)

Of course you should only if you want to. No one can make that decision but you as long as you are not going there for the wrong reasons then I hope that you have a blast but if you are then you best think about it. Although don't get me wrong change is sometimes good and for the best

I have lived in Yorkshire all my life - Hull and Huddersfield, and have spent a year in Manchester which wasn't good.
I recommend it - I work in Leeds, it's brilliant.

Yes if you buy a motorbike and become very self-opinionated in a charming sort of way. You also need to learn-
"I say what I like ,and I like what I bloody well say".
