Okay, my sister is supose to have this sweet 16 dinner and the dance is supose to be both of ours together. I asked her to please not get caught up in the moment and take over everything. At other birthday parties we have together it turns out to be about her. I just want to let her know how I feel, but she might get mad with me and hate me like she did our last birthday. Please tell me what should I do? I just don't want to be at my own birthday party with everyone hanging with her and paying her attention and not both of us.

You need to be honest with your sister and let her know how you are feeling. You need to let her know how it makes you feel, don't hold your feelings inside because if you do that you will make it harder on yourself. Just be honest with your sister and don't be scared of what she might say, you have a right to say how you feel and to enjoy your birthday party too!!!

Are you twins? Are your guests aware that it's your birthday, too? Do your parents know how you feel? (Let's face it---if you had different birthdays, you'd get your own parties. Your folks won't like this suggestion, but any chance you can do just that?) What about your friends? Do you have friends in common? Do they know how you feel? Do they see the same thing?

I wish I could give you more advice, but it's hard not knowing a lot of that stuff. Good luck, and happy birthday.

Be strong. Be confident. Watch her and make sure you are aware of her at all times. Try to set up an agreement with her prior to the party to make sure she doesn't do this. At the same time, talk to her and plan the dance together and make sure she is in alignment with you about all the details. Talk over everything to be honest PRIOR to the party, then night of the party---have fun!
Ciao!

TELL HER WHAT YOU FEEL! You should be able to tell her what you feel she is you sister. If you have a feeling that she is going to take over again than you should do something to steal the show.

i wouldn't think it would matter, you already know it's for you to, and if she wants more attention, give it to her, just hang around and do your own thing. don't get upset about it.

yes, tell her. She won't hate you forever, she's your sister. And if she hogs all the attention anyway, embarrass her. (not really, that would be mean...wink wink)
