First, be happy for yourself that you found out about the drinking, drugs, and lies. There are many, many Women who don't find these things out until way too late. You probably find yourself thinking about him because you have a deep emotional attachment to the special relationship you two shared. But you have to keep telling yourself that life goes on and YOU are the only person you can help in your life. Maybe he will "turn around", you can always say a prayer to that effect. But the reality is that he does what he does and you can't change that.

Move on with your life. You will find yourself thinking about him less and less as time goes on. If he comes to you later on in life a changed man, great! You can deal with that issue then. But reality usually does not come out exactly how you hope and dream so the best thing you can do is keep moving forward. Good Luck.
