Look in the bride magazines, they have a lot of styles and ideas in there. Good luck!

There's so many- You can separate the front half of the hair from just behind the start of the ear at the top. Clip it away from where you're working. Then take the rest of it in back, and french braid it, or put it in a bun high up, or a french roll, or tie it in a knot, bobby pin the knot to your head, and curl the loose tail with hot rollers or pin curls. The upper part that you set aside, then you can clip it & curl it around the high bun you made with the lower part of hair, using hot rollers or pin curls or whatever. (A pin curl is when you take a smaller section of hair, and twine it around your finger, then take your finger out, flattening out the loop somewhat, and stick a bobby pin in one part of the loop and pinning it to your head.) Another thing to do with the top part of hair is to make a pompedour- a little old-fashioned maybe, but it can look stunning if done right. To make a pompedour ("poof"), you get your hair slightly damp, mist it. Then you take a thin segment of hair in the front, a solid wall from ear to ear, but not too wide, you need some to rat (form the poof). The stuff just behind it, you rat it by brushing backwards over it. (Don't worry, the snarls will come out.) You try to make the rat go fairly evenly, almost from ear to ear. Use a few bobby pins if you have to, to keep it's shape. You can also get wool that matches your hair color, whole wool is better but wool yarn will do, and you tease the wool or the yarn until it is nice and fluffy. This is also a "rat", and you pin it in place. Then you take the front portion of hair, and smooth it over the rat, and use a clip to hold it in place. Curl the ends. Use lots and lots of hairspray to keep it in place. (Although, I am allergic to hairspray more or less, & I never used it, and it was o.k. even for my fine hair. But I used clips & lots of bobby pins.) Curl all the loose bits left around. Your best bet for true information & hands-on guidance is to find the female you know in your acqaintance who has a religious conviction against cutting her hair. You know, the one who always wears skirts or dresses, no matter what. She will know, or her friends from church will.

my favorite is quick and fairly easy....just get one of those hair clip things that you squeeze....and pull your hair back into a loose ponytail towards your neck, twist it a time or two, fold it up towards the top of your head and securely place the clip over the folded ponytail and through the hair going to the ponytail...voila! done!
