Once upon a time I had a young male friend from West Africa who acted just like your dog. He often dressed in a Boubou, and what he did was almost like a dance. I wonder if it was part of his tribal or religious custom? His religion was called Yoruba and maybe that had a bearing on it.

Because this is the way that dogs communicate with each other. They are always sniffing for the scents. My lab does it but she just wants her back (where the tail meets her body) scratched. It's a place that they have a hard time reaching and scratching for themselves.
