Yes, most definately. I have seen way too many things happen to not believe that to be true. Evil is real, demons are very real and they do take possession of non-Christian people quite often. The reason I say only non-christian people is because a Christian, with the Holy Spirit residing within him/her, cannot be possessed by another being because your soul is filled with the Holy Spirit. A Chrisitian can be oppressed by a demon but not possessed. I always looked at it like a box. When you are not a Christian, the box is empty and anything that wants in has room to get in. When you get saved, Jesus comes and cleans out your box, the Holy Spirit then gets in the box and resides there taking up all the space in the box and preventing other things from getting in. Oppression is like something coming and clinging to the outside of the box influencing some os the things going on and influencing some of our decisions, but not controlling us. Possession is whn something is in the box controlling us, oppression is something outside the box making comments and just influencing us.

Some people get possessed by evil spirits and some by their own evil, selfish thoughts.
When you start thinking that you're "all that," you start thinking that you are somehow better than others. Then you start thinking that society's rules don't apply to you. Maybe you think that you can get away with something, and if you do, it bolsters your self-important beliefs. You keep digging a deeper hole for yourself.

Of course. Some people may have a predisposition to deep evil but it doesn't mean they're chock full of devils going condo inside them.
Even if they did, how would you be able to tell? You can't see them. Peter wasn't just filled with an evil spirit at one point in the presence of Christ. He was filled with the devil himself. Only Christ knew. Less attention to this kind of thing and more on the book. How 'bout it?

I believe that when people fool around with things that they really aren't equipped to handle emotionally, spiritually, or physically; sometimes the act of ignorance can lead to an opening of a door that never should have been opened.

Absolutely, it would seem that about 75% of the people on this are! And I find it very frustrating to try to find an intelligent question that is asked in all sincerity about religion in general.
