Do you hope you're wrong about there not being a God? If you don't, tell me why?

Do you hope you're wrong about there not being a God? If you don't, tell me why? Wouldn't you want there to be an afterlife, or would you be fine with nothing?

I really hope that the next lamp I rub, has a genie appear and will grant me three wishes. I think that is far far more likely than a god existing.

Do I want an afterlife? Naturally. Who wouldn't? But I don't expect it to happen just because I want it.

So no, I don't hope I'm wrong about the existence of god.

If you're an atheist, you don't care. Why would I hope I'm wrong?
I don't base my life on all the idiotic rituals and rules of Christianity and the Bible. To me it's all nonsense, and I stand by that. I live for those around me, not for some supposed God who means nothing to me.
The funniest to me is when people put ashes on their heads. Is that really going to help you get into Heaven and play with the unicorns?

Hope? No, because hope is defined as wishing, and expecting that wish to come true. If I expected there to be god, I wouldn't be an atheist, now would I? But do I wish there was? Sure, that would be great. Eternal paradise is sure a whole lot better than oblivion. Who wouldn't want that? But it just isn't true.

No...I believe I am right. And I have no reason to hope I am wrong. I live a good life. I am very happy and successful. I believe in myself. I don't think the idea of God is logical and I have no reason to hope otherwise.

I would be fine with nothing.

If the Bible, the Torah, and the Q'uran are actually true, then God is a barbaric monster; not worthy of worship. Read the Bible. Murder, genocide, disease, pestilence, famine and misogyny are his stock in trade.

Jesus supported Old Testament law, so he's not much better. Again, read your Bible. Sadly, one of the few prophesies of Jesus that came true is that because of him, brother would be turned against brother, and families would be torn apart.

For the sake of lifekind, I sincerely hope I'm right about Gods non-existence!

If you can't spell the word atheist (from a - theos= God), then you don't know what you believe in. And if you hope you're wrong, you're not an atheist, you are at best an agnostic (you don't know if there is god, from a - gnosis = knowledge).

I have on doubt there is no God or "afterlife."

Why would I "hope" for something I know does not exist?

Maybe I should waste my time hoping a Playboy bunny will greet me when I die, that would be far more pleasant than hoping some homicidal psychopath is waiting for me.

No. I can't imagine an eternal existence with no goals, aspirations, or even the every day ups and downs of life. And if those conditions did exist, how long could you endure that without just being tired of existing?

I'm just enjoying the ride while I'm on it.

If there was, he loves us all and would forgive me, right? No, there is no god, and of this we can be certain. Not worrying about that bs is one of the perks of being atheist.
