Uh, no.
Bipolar disorder is real, thousands and thousands of researches had been done to prove it, and it's not only doctors that did those researches. Till now, there is no way of curing it, and pills can only be used to control it.
If it's the pill that's making people insane, how come there are insane people that didn't take those pills?
But I suppose you're one of those conspiracies lovers, you won't listen to things people say as long as it doesn't agree with what you say.
Hey has it ever crossed your mind that flu is a made up disease? Doctors are just trying to sell you another pill. It's the pills that give people runny nose and fever.

Not a made up disease. The medications usualy work well for most people taking it, and they decrease the risk of suicides and such. The most common medication perscribed is lithium. which is one of the oldest, cheapest and most well documented bi-polar medications. If you believe the condition to be made up, just ask someone on the medication who has had severe bipolar disorder to describe the difference.

No. Bi-Polar is a made up name for manic depression. My mother suffered from manic depression. Doctors don't "sell" you anything. They prescribe medications. The drug companies try to sell you pills. That's how they make a buck.

I am one of the many, the proud, the BI-POLAR! Perhaps it simply means that I am distantly related to the polar bear.(that might be cool)(cooler than being a damn monkey)
Just another label to place upon the abused of society who never learned how to cope positively. However, I must admit that there have been times at which meds seem to have BALANCED some chemicals in my CRAZY brain.

um no it's not made up... it's very real. there are lots of people suffering from it and this statement is simply ignorant and insulting to them.
Bipolar disorder (previously known as manic depression) is a diagnostic category describing a class of mood disorders where the person experiences states or episodes of depression and/or mania, hypomania, and/or mixed states. Left untreated, it is a severely disabling psychiatric condition. The difference between bipolar disorder and unipolar disorder (also called major depression) - for the purpose of this introduction - is that bipolar disorder involves "energized" or "activated" mood states in addition to depressed mood states. The duration and intensity of mood states varies widely among people with the illness. Fluctuating from one mood state to another is called "cycling" or having mood swings. Mood swings cause impairment not only in one's mood, but also in one's energy level, sleep pattern, activity level, social rhythms and thinking abilities. Many people become fully disabled - for significant periods of time - and during this time have great difficulty functioning.

my mother has it. I was a kid growing up with it in the house. It is not a made up disease! She use to beat the crap out of me, then the doctors found that part of her brain didn't develop properly. Once they got her on the medication about 15 years ago my life has been more enjoyable and I have a relationship with her.
IT DOES EXIST

Thats a false statement , I'm sure you've met people with this disorder . They are the ones whom are happy one minute and may be crying the next for no apparent reason. It can be very disturbing being around those who have it because they are like a jekell and hyde character without their medication. Think about it haven't you known anyone like this? Its not that uncommon really. I'd prefer them taking meds to being around them when not taking them.

No, past experience as a psych nurse allows me to reassure you that bipolar is very real. Although most patients who are diagnosed with it will tell you otherwise, and hate the meds. Why? Because the manic phase is fun, and medications even it out.

No, i have two cousins that have it. It is a genetic disorder that is passed down to the children of two parents that carry the gene. For example, my cousins have it because my aunt and uncle both have the gene, but i do not because, while my dad has the gene, my mom does not.

It is another label. That's all.
As long as people take responsibility for their actions, they can call their decision making process whatever they like.
I guess hyperactive kids are now called ADD kids. Whatever.
Sit down and pay attention Johnny.
