i don't feel like i try to push my faith down anyone's throat..... i answer questions with my honest opinion... i hope that i might open someones eyes, or make them question things a little deeper, or help them see something more clearly..... hard to imagine anyone has changed their faith, but maybe some faiths have been strengthened, and some narrow mindedness has been weakened...... btw i am a christian.... :) and there are lots of narrow minded christians that i hope become less narrow minded....lol

Yes. Having read through some of the diatribe on this site, I've decided to switch and become a Humanist. After all, some of the rantings on the site are obviously the works of people who need help and therefore as a Humanist, I can endeavour to be kind and benevolent and not instantly go into Satanist mode and want to shut them up for ever!

I don't know what Y!A is, but I was raised Southern Baptist, but my particular church was split when the Baptist zealots and moderates National Conventions split. The zealots gained control of my church so I quit going and the ones who left scattered to other Baptist churches.
I ended up taking a look at other Christian denominations and settled on Episcopalian or Catholic Lite. This church too has been unsettled lately, but I'm pleased that with the direction of the American church (third world churches are unpleased with us). I like Episcopalians because of the good volunteer work they do in their communities without the proselytizing that is so prevalent in evangelical churches like the Southern Baptist missions. Too, the Episcopalian churches are more diverse. They more closely embody the teachings of Jesus, to care for the poor and under privileged and be a good citizen.
That's my 2-cents worth.

I strongly agree with you. I highly doubt that anyone would change their faith and beliefs due to someone preaching on Yahoo! Answers about why their faith is the right one. Apparently those people don't understand that most of us have a mind of our own.
Very good question!

Hehe...there's so many poorly developed arguments on here I can't do much besides laugh. People believe what they want no matter what and that's it.
Plus, I've lived 14 years in the LDS capital of the world and I'm a happy atheist. What hope does a website have?

I have only become stronger in my lack of faith. But I have learnt through YA that I am an Ignosticist. I was so from the very beginning, but I didn't know there was a name for my position. And I've learnt that here.

I have to agree with you. A person's faith is very personal and unique. You can't just base your religion off of something someone said on Y!A. Religion is about much more than that, or at least it should be.
