There is no definitive proof that Noah's Ark has been found. There are two sites that are considered likely places, both of which are in the mountain regions of Ararat in Turkey.

One is located in a glacier that have been shown in satellite and reconnaissance photos. No expeditions are allowed at the present time by the Turkish government. Thus, it remains to be seen as to whether or not this site contains the remnants of the Ark.

A second site, for which there are tours sponsored by the government of Turkey, is about 12 miles from Mount Ararat proper. This wouldn't necessarily prevent it from being Noah's Ark, since the Scripture mentions that it rested on the mountains (plural) of Ararat. This site has a petrified, boat-shaped object, which some claim to be Noah's Ark. This, of course, is in dispute.

Regardless of whether we ever find Noah's Ark, the account of the Ark shows how gracious God is in providing a way of salvation, even in the midst of a wicked people.

Due to a popular Hollywood movie released in theaters in 1976 ("In Search of Noah's Ark"), many people remain under the impression that Noah's Ark has definitely been found. Particularly memorable to many people was a fuzzy telephoto photograph of what some thought might be the Ark. Later expeditions proved that the object was simply a large rock formation.

In the 1980s and 90s, many were misled by network news stories and newspaper articles that claimed the Ark had been found at a completely different location. Reports were of a ship-shaped structure 15 miles from Mt. Ararat. Unfortunately, various exaggerated claims about this site were spread. This location is often referred to as the Durupinar Site. It was internationally promoted by an American nurse anesthetist named Ron Wyatt, known for making inaccurate claims. Geologic surveys, subsurface radar and core-drilling data later confirmed beyond any doubt that this odd formation is not the Ark. It is merely a geologic feature common throughout the Ararat region.

Who said it was? There are lots of ideas on where it existed but not a dab of proof!

There are many opinions on Religion and science. I do not wish to mislead anyone in their beliefs but here are some basic facts. Religion, no matter what flavor, was created by early man from fear of the unknown. This is not to say that worship is bad. I would like to state that too many religions have taken it upon themselves to decide where, when, and how the Creator accomplished this feat. I totally believe that the Creator does, always has, and always will exist! I do not however believe that there is one person on the face of the Earth who has the right to decide how the Creator performed this miracle! If the Creator chose to take billions of years then so be it! If evolution was part of his plan I can deal with it. This brings me to the second point, The Creator did not write the bibles, scrolls, or any other documentation we use in our religions. These items were written by many people and are simply visions of how they perceived the Creators message. I firmly believe that what we call evolution was Gods method of creation. Evolution is apparent everywhere you look. I also believe there is life elsewhere in the universe. Nowhere does it state that the Creator didnt create life elsewhere. This assumption was made by man. Humans are vain but feeble, delicate creatures who believe they are the superior life form. God instilled in us the first law which is the instinct for survival. Every living thing has this primordial instinct. It is up to us to decide which path we will take in order to survive. If we err, we will pay the price. I also believe the need for the exploration of space is a must! It is a well established fact that our planet will not live forever and if we want to survive we must leave this planet. As far as man being a destructive creature, man is a naturally occurring event on this planet. If man were never created I am sure some other life form here could destroy its own civilization. The lowly cockroach alone could destroy the very ecosystem that keeps it alive in time. A majority of people dont have a clue on how large the universe is. Most people cant tell the difference between a solar system, a galaxy, and a universe! This annoys me and I only wish that they new. God has given us a most valuable tool and that is the power to think. Religion now needs to come up from the stoneage beliefs and help rather than hinder our quest for survival.

It has not been found, some say they have, but really no proof.

Searching for the Ark

Since the 19th century, there have been numerous attempts to find the ark on the mountains of Ararat. These mountains have two prominent peaks, one 16,950 feet high and the other 12,840 feet. The higher of the two is perpetually covered by snow. Because of the climatic changes that followed the Flood, the ark would soon have been buried by snow. Some investigators firmly believe that the ark is still there, buried deep in a glacier. They claim that there have been periods when the ice melted sufficiently to permit part of the ark to be exposed temporarily.

The book In Search of Noah’s Ark quotes George Hagopian, an Armenian, who claimed that he climbed Mount Ararat and saw the ark in 1902 and again in 1904. On the first visit, he said, he actually climbed on top of the ark. “I stood up straight and looked all over the ship. It was long. The height was about forty feet [12 m].” Regarding his observation on his subsequent visit, he said: “I didn’t see any real curves. It was unlike any other boat I have ever seen. It looked more like a flat-bottomed barge.”

From 1952 to 1969, Fernand Navarra made four efforts to find evidence of the ark. On his third trip to Mount Ararat, he worked his way to the bottom of a crevasse in a glacier, where he found a piece of black wood embedded in the ice. “It must have been very long,” he said, “and perhaps still attached to other parts of the ship’s framework. I could only cut along the grain until I split off a piece about five feet [1.5 m] long.”

Professor Richard Bliss, one of several experts who examined the wood, said: “The Navarra wood sample is a structural beam and impregnated with bituminous pitch. It has mortise and tenon joints. And it’s definitely hand-hewn and squared.” The estimated age of the wood was set at about four or five thousand years.

Although efforts have been made to find the ark on Mount Ararat, the definite proof that it was used to survive a cataclysmic deluge exists in the written record of that event in the Bible book of Genesis.

The ark had a carrying capacity equal to that of 10 freight trains of about 25 American boxcars each!

This is a huge conjecture. People say they did. Like a Russian expedition before their revolution in 1917, and, by the time they got back Moscow was in turmoil and everybody was executed for being Czarists. All too convenient, I think. Still, it could be true.

That's not the point. Humans, mistake idolatry for religion. Imagine the idolatrous things they'd do with even a sliver from the ark? A piece of the cross? Read what happened in the wilderness with the brazen serpent.

If you want to make contact with an allegation, read that book with all your might and be expectant. But remember, this is not for cowards.

If you go to the top of Mt. Ararat in Turkey, you will see pieces of ark-shaped acacia wood. This is interesting because:

(a) the Bible reported that this is where the ark would be
(b) the wood matches the type reported in the Bible
(c) it was used for the purposes of sailing.

Now, you have these people, disclaiming all of this, but it is there. Climb Mt. Ararat and see for yourself.

You're asking about the Ark of the Covenant, aren't you? God knows where it is. As for Noah's boat, it'll come sliding down that mountain one of these days. Imagine how many people will be sooooo surprised.

The ARK (I pressume Noah's) is supposedly on Mount Arrat (spelling wrong on that, sorry). Noone has be able to prove they have found it and the country where the mountain is located prohibits people from looking for it.
