Tell her to put big rollers on her head and sit under the dryer til it is COMPLETELY DRY. When she thinks its completely dry... tell her to stay a littlebit longer. Sometimes hair fools you into thinking its dry because its so hot and after it cools, you will f ind out its still humid. Take one curler down to check. Make sure its from the middle of your head. If its still wet, put it back on and sit under the dryier some more.

When it dryes. Take all the curlers down. Then proceed to blowdrying with a round brush. Don't forget to use heat protective shampoo and conditioners. Conditioning is VERY important. Get some antifrizz drops for your hair too so u can smooth it out afterwards.

Or after you take the curlers down from your head instead of blowdrying it, you could use a flat iron or something I love "The Maxiglide" . Google it. I saw it on a late late late infomercial one day because I have VERY difficult hair. I was skeptical at first, but I purchased it and it works super great.

Maybe your friend want the natural look, if not he can put a texturizer on it to make it more manageable. Texturizers can be bought at any store IE. Walmart, Target, Walgreens, Cvs, etc. Good luck to your friend.

Nappy how? Is it really curly? Is it frizzy? Is she black or white? Does it need to be relaxed?

she should put hair oil like garnier fructis or something then straighten it, it will remain like this until u wash it, this is the easy and cheap way to do it, the expensive way is u can get it relaxed and it will stay straightened for a few months

It depends what kind of her she has. If it's frizzy she can put leave in conditioner then apply some frizz it. But if her is like is like afroee then she relax it and they have to products anywhere like longs or Wallgreens.

I think she should go to a hair salon. They probably have some shampoo or something that will fix it up. I hope this has helped you.
