I couldn't move my arm for a few minutes after waking up. I had to pick up my arm and move it with my other arm for a little before I could move it somewhat again. It's completely recovered now. What might have happened? It was hanging off the side of the bed when I woke up, but a vein or artery may have been blocked nonetheless.

I sometimes get that too with my arms or legs. It's usually because you've slept awkwardly on it and either cut off the circulation or trapped a nerve. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you actually lose the use of it while you're awake. Should that happen then please seek the advice of a doctor. The funniest time was when I lost sensation in my leg. I didn't realise until I actually got out of bed and dropped to the floor!! lol!

I bet you were just sleeping that way too long. For awhile my shoulders would hurt when I got up. I realized I was sleeping with my arms under my head. I made a consious effort not to do that anymore and guess what, no more shoulder pain. Good luck, don't be a worry wart.

There is ur problem, you had it hanging off the bed and the blood circulation stopped. Just like if you lay on it for a extended period of time, it falls asleep and when you go to move it, it is going to be numb.

I don't think it's sth serious. Maybe you slept in an uncomfortable for your arm position and spent all the night like that... After this, it's normal not to be able to move it for a few minutes!
