No you can't usually get abs in 3 weeks, and attempting to do so could get you very sore and discouraged. Abs are some of the hardest muscles to get, and their developement comes more from a lifestyle change toward good eating and consistant ab workouts than it does from explosive entinsity and overzealous fervoris sit-ups. remember that plain situps aren't as good for you as a variaty of sit ups and leg lifts. Good luck.

1000 crunches a day would be going way over the limit. I would recommend around 100 crunches two times a day. And just crunches won't get you abs, you should try other ab workouts too. You can find these workouts online, or pick up any fitness magazine. They usually have ab workouts in each issue. If you do various ab workouts, 3 weeks should be enouggh to get you tone and get rid of a poochy or flabby stomach.

Be realistic, you won't be able to do so many crunches in a day without hurting yourself. Also, crunches only target the upper portion of your tummy. If you want a flat stomach, this is the way to get it: hang upside down from a bar (at a playground perhaps) and do three sets of 10 sit ups with a thirty second break in between. Then move on top of the bars and hang so that your stomach is facing the ground and your legs are wrapped ankles over a bar, knees under, waist over and do reverse sit ups, same number of reps w/same breaks. Then get down and hang from a bar by your arms and do leg lifts, same sequence. Remain hanging from arms and lift your body using the muscles in your sides. Finally, do a twenty minute, medium paced jog. If you are already reasonably in shape, these exercises will be more than sufficient to tone you up without over doing it, using up all your time, or paying for a gym! Have fun!

Abs are achieved through a combination of HIT "high intense cardio" or similar exercises like aerobics.... "HIT just works best."
and crunches.
Low BF% = Abs
There is no such thing as spot reduction, it all comes off even!
"YOU CAN'T TARGET ONE AREA FOR FAT LOSS"
Crunches alone will not help.
Sure they may make your abs bigger, but you need to ditch that last stubborn bit of fat, and it doesn't come off easy on most people.
The body always tends to like to hold on to some.
3 weeks??? No it takes at-least two for the muscle to heal then you break them down again and start all over!

Crunches? Baby, you have to do aerobics. You can do 10.000 crunches a night. That wont mean a thing if you dont shed the extra meat in front of em.You can get great abs with a 8-minute workout.Shedding the fat with aerobics for 30-45 minutes a day is whats gonna get you ripped!

You'll be a lot stronger. But you have to be pretty strong to begin with to be able to do 1000. I bet you'll get tired before finishing, even if you space it out during the day - which would decrease it's effect anyway.
If you want to see your abs, you need to lose any layer of fat on top of your ab muscles. Crunches just grow your muscles, not burn that much fat.

1000 a day?! That is a lot. Try a couple hundred a day. You can definitely get good abs in 3 weeks at that. Of course, you'll have to rest a couple days after the first day.

I don't know... It depends on the person, also, you have to do the crunches right. I tried to do about 300 a day for a couple months and I still didn't get any abs, I had about no fat on me either

doing crunches can develop muscles in that region, but 1000 is overdo as there is optimum performance.
and if you want abs, you have to burn away fats so that your abs can be seen and not hidden by fats, so do all round exercise instead of only crunches. go jogging and etc.
