Yes. Parvo can cause bloody stool, but not every time. If you think it might be Parvo, get the dog to the vet ASAP! This disease is DEADLY if not treated quickly and aggressively, and spreads really easily to other dogs.
Certainly there are other things that can give a puppy diarrhea, but given the risk that Parvo carries, it is best to have him tested immediately.

YES!! Call your vet immediately!! Parvo is a very serious and deadly thing for dogs!! Without treatment a dog with PARVO will die!! Signs of parvo include being lethargic, vomitting, diarrhea, loss of appetite. Any of these signs may be the cause of Parvo. Seek medical attention ASAp!! Don't read anymore answers and call your vet. The quicker parvo is treated the greater chance of survival. Good luck

Parvovirus is a viral disease of dogs. It affects puppies much more frequently than it affects adult dogs. The virus likes to grow in rapidly dividing cells. The intestinal lining has the biggest concentration of rapidly dividing cells in a puppy's body. The virus attacks and kills these cells, causing diarrhea (often bloody), depression and suppression of white blood cells -- which come from another group of rapidly dividing cells. In very young puppies it can infect the heart muscle and lead to "sudden" death. This is a very serious disease. Some puppies infected with parvovirus will die despite prompt and adequate treatment. While no extremely accurate statistics are available, a good guess is probably that 80% of puppies treated for parvovirus will live. Without treatment, probably 80% or more of the infected puppies would die.
Due to the high death rate, parvovirus gets a lot of free publicity. Many people just assume that any case of diarrhea in a dog is from parvovirus. This is not true. There are a lot of other diseases and disorders that lead to diarrhea. If you have a puppy, don't take any chances. Have your puppy examined by your vet if diarrhea is a factor in any disease. It is better to be safe than to be sorry.

The majority of dogs presented with parvovirus show signs of fever, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, and lack of appetite. In severe cases the diarrhea is very watery and frequently bloody, with a telltale odor. They are very ill, with significant abdominal pain. The virus is so strong that it literally causes the lining of the intestines to slough. It is painful to eat, and with the severe diarrhea and vomiting that is present, they rapidly become dehydrated. The also have a disruption in their electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chlorine) that adds to the weakness

I checked your previous questions. It sounds like you're having a good bit of trouble with this pup! Something that caught my eye was that you said he threw up a piece of plastic. If he threw up a piece of plastic then he probly ate somthing and still has it lodged somewhere inside of him and it is causing him to throw up. Go look back at princess jean's post on your last question. I really like her answer and you need to listen to her. We can not magicly help your pet stop throwing up, but the vet can. Stop posting about your dog throwing up and do what everyone has told you to do in the last 6 questions. Take him to the vet. PLEASE

yes, not all symptoms have to be present in order for a dog to have a particualr disease, but the dog should be seen by a vet just to be on the safe side.
