I'm English but live in Germany. The Germans say "Hallo" - pronounced as it's spelled. But if they want to be more formal, they would say "Guten Tag" which technically means "good day" but is used as a greeting rather than a parting statement.

There used to be a goofy little track from the past due 60's referred to as "Hello, Hello" via a organization referred to as Sopwith Camel. I just like the track, however it could have one of the vital dumbest strains ever written in it... Would you prefer a few of my tangerine? I understand I'll by no means deal with you imply. One of our nearby speak exhibit hosts right here in Pittsburgh used the track as his starting subject....we leave out you, Uncle Dougie.
