first of all......and thank you for this question...
the bible was written thousands of years ago by men..it was written by men who wanted to exercise domination/ control over other men.(put fear into them); (the church vs the commoners)
now, let me ask you:
who would want to loose that power by offering to let other people think for themselves and possibly choosing to "follow" some other teacher/god?.....please do the research...
also: I do not worship any god... I celebrate all energy and believe that god (or positive light and energy) is in all of us and everything. there is a god (positive light energy) in the sun, the moon, nature in general, etc.......
these I celebrate!

He is refering to the manmade stone or metal or wood man made idols. those that man would try to make god's
Also to any other thing that a man might hold more dear than God Himself. ie: money, sex, cars, power,ect, ect, ect

he was talking about idols. and also idolatry which i don't understand the catholics have idols yet they believe in the bible. even though the idols are saints to them its not idolatry. even though they don't pray to god they pray to these idols. WHAT!? pray to god he cares even about catholics. they just believe god is to busy or something. i don't know if anyone is catholic please set me straight.
