My mom is turning 53 this year. She doesn't like spas, manicures, etc. I don't want to get her any gift cards and I want ideas other than, "taker her out to dinner or spend the day with her." HELP! Any suggestions??

Maybe a son that knows what she likes? I am just kidding! I know what you mean. I have a father, father-in-law, a mother and 2 mother-in-laws and me and my husband have a hard time trying to figure it out. For mother's day, I got all the women a bath and body set of lotion, body spray, bubble bath, shower gel and soap. I got it from www.bathandbodyworks.com and they did a gift wrapping in a beautiful box and it was delivered. You could have a bouquet of flowers sent to her and then take her out to dinner. Get tickets to a Broadway play or musical. Have her car detailed or a house cleaning service.

I hope that might help. It really is hard to get things for people at that age. They have everything or they hate everything.

Does your mom have any hobbies? Gift cards are nice. For example, If she likes gardening you could get a gift card from a nursery, sewing from a fabric shop, etc.
You could also do something nice for her like yard work, painting,
cleaning her house, and anything that she can't do or wants to have done.
I am 65 yrs old and would like either of these.
Hope.

Arrange for her to have a GLAM photo day at a studio......with you or all the girls in the family. Champagne, a makeup artist to beautify her AND you....is all fun and a very different gift. My sister arranged that for my mom once and she still has some of the pics on her wall and proudly refers to them to friends etc. Also.....it gives one a moment in time to treasure...your heritage.

a modern nice bag or cleaning the house instead of her butting roses in her favorite sitting place is a good idea
