the baby when born was 26 weeks only,750 grams of weight,x ray was ok, but now the weight has decreased to mere 500 grams.only glucose diet is given.pl tell if any good suppliment that can be given with glucose to regain his strenghth or weight.he was born on 21 june 2006

It's normal for a baby to lose some weight after birth, but I know it's scary when they just don't have much to spare! Depending on the maturity of the baby's organs, he may not yet be able to digest much of anything except supplements but I'd certainly try to start expressing breastmilk - that's the best thing you can do for him! Your touch is important too, handle him as much as you're able to. He's probably too tiny for you to be able to hold him, but as soon as he's big enough skin-to-skin contact is important and will help him grow and gain weight faster.

Ahh pretty sure the doctors are on that for ya. Don't think they would let u mess with the babies meds or nutrition even if u wanted to. Most babies lose some wait after being born.
