If its not a marriage between a man and woman, then any sex is wrong. You can also see through the old testiment that homosexuality is wrong. Some new versions of the bible like the message, NIV, etc.... have ommited and/or reworded these passages in the bible. God is clear about it, and so clear is it that there is no need for different opinions. God destroyed jews because they wouldnt repent from this lifestyle. God destroyed a whole city for the same reason but made those who werent homos' flee before He destroyed the city. God didnt put it into code or any other confusing secret language. He hates the homo lifestyle just like any other sin. If you had to send your son to die for all sin, wouldnt you hate all sin as well. Christ condemed homosexual lifestyle and the church should too. If people want help to get away from it then churches should help anyway and everyway they can but if they want to go to a church and have no desire to repent from sin then they shouldnt be allowed in.

Many mainline Christian denominations are presently debating their stance on Homosexuality.
The reason there is a debate is because there is a growing number of Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, Lutheran Christians (and others) who believe that gays (even ones in a relationship) should be received with open arms into their congregations. (a generation ago, this would have been unheard of)
Of course, there are many who are against the gay "lifestyle" in those churches. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future.
Most of the Episcopal churches in my area go out of their way to express that gays and lesbians are welcome in their church.
I imagine some are turned off by this, but it is because of this and other reasons that many people, including my wife, children, and I, attend an Episcopal church.

Not all do, just mostly the mainstream religions. Many pagan paths are very open to homosexuality, looking more at what is inside a person rather than judging them based on their sexual preference.

I don't think so. And be sure you understand that Christianity condemns the act of homosexuality not the practitioner. It is the sin that is to be avoided, but we are commissioned to love the sinner. We are all sinners forgiven by the grace of God and to live a Christlike life means that we accept and love others, even if and when we disagree.

All I know is that Jesus does not. Whether I think being gay is good or bad is out of the point. How I treat the gay person is the point. Jesus loves everybody and shows it. It is not my job to judge others. It is my job to show love and compassion for them.
G-- will judge that person accordingly. I don't worry about that. I worry about how I treat and respect them.
As far as the person above me, Jesus said that if you desire a person lustfully, you have already committed adultery in your heart. I know, it's tough especially for men. But, I am really getting better.

Christianity isn't supposed to condemn. We just aren't supposed to condone. Homosexuality is a sin, but it is a forgiveable sin like all the others and for that we love the sinner and hate the sin. It is not our place to judge because God is the judge and He is all knowing, all powerful, and totally just.

from the Jewish stand point it is the act of homosexuality that is offensive not the person ie you could have a desire to have a homosexual relationship but if you don't act upon it you're ok. Its like wanting an adulteress affair but you don't do it then it's ok

No, I am Unitarian Universalist and we embrace it. We even have classes to educate folks about it. Other churches here in my town also conduct services of union - MCC & Open arms etc. They are christian churches. Not all branches of christianity condemn homosexuality.

No, not every religion condemns it since some are marrying same sex couple. you just have to find which ones do not. Being a Baptist, I know our church does.
