Until the person stops being an object and starts being real to you. Some habits become annoying, they don't always look or smell great when they wake up, you see their dirty underwear...when the fantasy ends, lust dies.

Lust will last until there is a reason for it to go away. It depends on the situation. If you are experiencing it, and then you get to sleep with the person (or do whatever it was you were thinking about) it might go away. If the person does something to turn you off by showing a different side of them that you don't like or being an asshole, lust will probably die down. I don't think there is really a set time for how long it will stick around.

Lust lasts until it's refocused.
For example.... I lust for the girl I just started seeing... until I meet someone else... who catches my fancy... and my lust is redirected onto her... now the first one doesn't seem as amazing any more.
