The quickest way is to cut out red meats, starches, breads, sugars, alcohal, and sodas.

Eat veggies (salads are good), soups, and drink TONS of water. If you get hungry between a meal, drink water to fill up.

In moderation eat white meats, and fruits (fruits contain natural sugars, and that can put on weight)

Practice portion control. Yes, you'll feel hungry at first, but think of your goal, and soon your stomach will start shrinking and you won't have that feeling anymore.

Eat 5 times a day. A small breakfast. A mid-morning snack, such as an apple. A small lunch. A mid-afternoon snack, such as carrots. A lite dinner. Do not eat any later than 7pm (6pm is better.)

Go exercise for at least an hour a day, incorporating weight training. Weight training builds muscle. Muscle burns fat. You get the idea.

Good luck!!

Never do crash diets, because in the end you end up gaining all that weight back. Try going to the gym at least 4 times a week for about 1 hour. Eat salads, fruits, vegetables, and a lot of water. Go jogging for about 30 minutes everyday if you don't do so at the gym. This should help you loose weight . You may not notice it right away but before you know it you will have to get smaller sizes! Hope this helps!

Eat low fat, lean meats, vegetables, fruits and drink lots of water. Cut out carbs., and sugar that don't come from fruits and vegetables. Make sure that you aren't sedentary and are moving if you aren't exercising. One thing that my doctors told me to do when I was dieting, is to have a diet of 1000-1500 calories/day but to change up the amounts each day. EX: 1000, 1300, 1100, 1400, 1000, etc. Never eat the same amount of calories every day. Your body, just like anything that you do, will get used to the same amount and not work as hard to burn them off. I followed that and I lost 25 lbs. in about 5 months over a year ago and I haven't put it back on.

1. Substitutions! Your favorite snacks don't have to be forbidden; in fact, if you make them so, they'll seem even more appealing. So substitute fat-free pringles for the high-fat potato chips, or nonfat frozen yogurt for high-calorie ice cream. Look for low-fat or fat-free salad dressing, light mayo, low-fat cheese, etc. You really get used to them quickly; I won't eat regular ice cream anymore, yuck!

2. Avoid excess snacking by popping a piece of gum in your mouth when you've got the munchies but aren't hungry.

3. Drink lots and LOTS of water.

4. Fiber-rich foods (fruits, veggies, whole grains) fill you up faster and make you feel full longer.

5. Low-fat dairy products (look for Yoplait's or Dannon LIGHT smoothies, both are really good) have been shown to shrink waists.

6. Exercise at least 4 times a week but no more than 6 times a week. (You need at least one recovery day.) Any type of cardio will shed the pounds: swimming, running, jumping rope, playing sports, biking. On your day off, keep active. Play some recreational badminton with friends, or take a leisurely walk.

7. Don't skip meals! It slows your metabolism, therefore making it harder to lose weight. Instead, eat small meals at least six times a day. Just be sure to eat the RIGHT foods: whole grains (tortillas, breads, pasta), fruits (dried and fresh), nuts, vegetables, low-fat dairy products, etc. Remember to eat a balanced diet including everything in the food pyramid. A deficiency in any vitamin or mineral compromises your energy stores and your overall health.

8. Keep a list of heart healthy snacks on the fridge to remind you not to reach for the cheesies.

9. Remember that weight loss takes time. You didn't gain it all overnight, and you're not going to lose it overnight. But if you stick to a healthy diet and an active lifestyle, you WILL lose the inches.

Good luck!

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a fitness calculator that you can put on your cell phone and computer. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as white potatoes) and drink lots of water.

Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/PyramidLRG.gif?osCsid=26a424be471d1337e7c2f105d5c64d9d

*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.

Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. A superb magazine to buy with excellent resistance training routines that will not get you bored is "Muscle and Fitness". Signup for the free newsletter.

A good book to buy that teaches you the cardiovascular training basics is “Fitness for Dummies”.

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.

*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com

Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Eat only things that come directly from plants.
For example carrots, celery, potatoes, broccoli, apples, oranges, plums, blueberries, etc. Barley, rice, oats. Lettuce, cabbage.
watermelon

If it doesn't come directly from a tree don't eat it:
crackers, hamburgers, hot pockets, milk, meat, pie,

this will work great combined with a lot of life activity, meaning TURN OFF THE TV AND COMPUTER and take a walk or ride your bike. Also do yoga helps a lot.
