There was a time in my life when I totally DESPISED my older sister. We are 7 years apart and I felt like a shadow beside her. She was always the pretty one that got all the attention. She had the looks, the personality, the good grades. But what I didn't realize is that it wasnt my turn yet. I was just a kid and she was a young woman. Now that we are both grown up (me 24, she 31) and I've matured...I love my big sister to death and I'm a little ashamed to admit that I once had hatred for her.
If this is what you're going through. Stop and think to yourself: She is family. If she picks your life apart and always criticizes you, don't stoop down to her level. She's your sister and you guys should work things out. Talk to her and let her know how you feel when she says things like that to you. She's gonna be around for a long time, you might as well become friends and make the best of it.

Hi I have a sister that is a year older than me and when we were growing up we were always at each others throats. I always wnated to be her. She had all the friends and she was very popular. Which I hated and even though we were a year apart she was much more mature than I was. I think thats what drew us apart from each other. But once we had gotten older, we became the best of friends. I love my big sister to death. One thing you have to remember is that blood is thicker than water. So stick with your sister, and don't let your differences tear you apart from each other. Because in the long run you are definitally going to need each other.

Yes I hate my older sister in the freaking world becasue she knew what going on with my mother that I just had to find out until i was 22 years old. When I told my sister about Mom abuse me and drinking and stuff like that.. she said You know your mother has drinking problme all those years and I told her you knew about that damn thing and You left me when i was 15. You knew and left me there. oh my god can't bleliev eit and until later i am 35 now 5 months ago i just found out that my sister not my real sister she is my half sister.. oh my god again....
I told her I hate her so bad that she really mess up my life and my father. and she said that my father moselsed her . and I like what the hell? now tell me now ???? make no sense if happen when she was a child and then my mom remarried my real father 1988 and then 2 months spilt up and then now 2 months ago telling me this ????
Oh my god. I hate her so bad she think she knows all about me she left 18 years old and let see how often i see her ummmmmmmmmm 18 to 38 that mean i only see her like 4 time between that. how the hell she knows me???

i only have one sister left & i love her more than life its self just wish i could see more of. yes she has done mean things to me when growing up as a child but hasn't? but it does not give me the right to hate her for what she has done in the past. shoot we sit around on the phone talking about old times its good to have a few laughs every now & again.

It is my younger sister(and only sibling) who does this. we are now adults and we may talk once a year. Sometimes it feels like i am an only child .It is not a fun feeling and I am truely sorry you
have to go through what i have been in for years.

yea, Let me tell you a story when I was ten my older step-sister; April woke me up out of a sound sleep at 6:00 in the morning to drag me out side were her aunt, uncle, and all of her nieces and nephews were waiting and then this girl that was five times my size and eight yrs older than me decided to beat the sh*t out of me cause she thought it would be fun and because HER family wanted to see a fight, needless to say I haven't talked to her in over 13 yrs so yes I hate my older sister.

i dont have a sister but i have an aunt who is only 8 years older than me, does that count? i never hated her i always looked up to her.

No, I love my sister. She's very supportive and giving. As for your sister, just feel sorry that she needs to do what she's doing to feel good. She has low self esteem. Get her counseling sessions.

we have never gotten along. now that mother is dead and the sister had moved in with her to take care of her, i got nothing that i was supposed to get. no family pictures, nothing that belonged to mother.
it was so bad that she was given the money to buy a tombstone and never did.
i was given money instead of the house. after all was said and done, i ended up paying for the funeral and will pay for the tombstone. after my sister was given the money to pay for that before she died.

I hate my older sister for stealing $60,000 form my mother's boyfriend.
