Yes, this is correct. "If you believe in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and believe that God has raised Him from the dead you shall be saved." It doesn't have a time limit on it. The best example is the theif on the cross who asked Christ for forgiveness at the end of his life and it was granted to him.

Two things I thought of, however, as I read your question (?). How many people know the exact moment of when they are going to die so that they can say the "magic words" with feeling and be saved? That would be quite a trick.

Secondly, if there were a person able to do this, how sad that such a person would have waited until then to enjoy the peace and joy of walking and knowing the God Who loves them.

Are you planning to wait?

I don't quite understand what you mean. If you have even the slightest feeling that Jesus made a way for you to never die, why wouldn't you just put your trust in Him now? You might not make it to a cozy death bed in a hospital. So many people die so suddenly that they aren't afforded that luxury of waiting til the last minute.

Eternal life is a gift from God.

You should snatch it up right away instead of leaving it under the christmas tree or saving it for a special day.

Yes. My father at 91 years old said "yes" to Jesus Christ four days before he died. I know he is with the Lord.

That being said, no one can be certain when they will die. Car crashes. Freeway snipers. Natural and unnatural disasters. Heart attacks, freak accidents. That is why the bible says "today is the day of salvation".

Also, it's not merely lip service. Yes, you can be saved with a "deathbed confession"...but only God will know if it's a true conversion of the heart. And with all due respect, I would counsel never, ever to wait that long, for all the above reasons.

A clarification - I assume that when you mean 'Jesus", it means "God Jesus" and it may mean a different God to someone else... Like "God Mary" to someone and "Lord Buddha" to someone else.

Coming to your question - A brief background of what is most believed to be death and beyond... While no has experienced death to talk about it, the general impression is that one sees a cycle of deaths in one's soul-time before the soul actually dies. The believed cycle is normally assumed to be anywhere between 7 to 9 death-birth cycle. One never knows, it is all a wiseman saying based on miracles, encounters, strange-part-connections etc... So let us assume that the 7 to 9 birth-rebirth is true, then you either achieve salvation on the last cycle , or, you die in the last cycle... hence if you die today, there is no way of saying you will reach salvation on this cycle of death, as you may just be born elsewhere.

Believing in God is just a discipline / framework or an initiation into a structured devotion. One may NOT believe in God and may still get a salvation.

Since we do not know what is life beyond death, the best way to know either we get a salvation or not is to understand the surrounding around us. If you are a father, you will see your children and see how they are doing. If you have done well, loved mostly, did righteous things, you will see prosperity around and that will give you salvation after death sometime in your cycle of birth-rebirth.

If you see lot of suffering around you near dear ones, you are yet to achieve salvation. In that case keep praying to God. Introspect your past. If you have time correct what you have done wrong. Especially mega blunders and hope your life will improve to get a salvation in the cycle to come.

Conclusion - Believe in yourself, Believe in God (if you may. But not important). Do good things to nature. Do good things to animals. Be kind to women. Be kind to children. And be nice to everyone around. Have good friends. Never think of pre-mediated hurting someone

And you will reach salvation, somewhere in your 7th to 9th birth-death cycle and you will be reborn as a new person. After that the chain goes on and on and on

Good Luck

Matthew 20:1-16 tells us that those who labour in the service of the Kingdom of Heaven, whether they came to labour at the eleventh hour or the first, receive the same wage.

Unequivocally - the answer is yes!! Provided it is a real conversion, it is the Christian belief that it is never too late. It may seem scandalous to some, but Christianity has always taught that you don't earn your way to Heaven, because we all come up short - all of us. God's healing mercy is what saves - and as soon as we learn that, it can be anyone's to claim - murderers, thieves, you name it!

This is the biggest misconception in the world. Jesus Christ never claimed divinity. he invited people to worship only 1 GOD. The 'theory of Trinity' and 'Jesus as Saviour' is nothing but an easy way to escape self-accountability and follow your mean desires.

The Belief in an afterlife is necessary for the proper sustainance of human kind. Where every soul has to account for whatever good or bad it has done. The 'Theory of Saviour' has destroyed our moral and ethical values. Just because Jesus died for our sins, do as you like is the belief of maniacs who want to rule the world as per their selfish & lustful desires.

Jesus Christ was a Prophet just like Joseph, Noah, Adam etc.
For guiding Mankind, in every age GOD sent a messenger. The Last and the final Messenger was sent to the most pagan tribes in the world. The people who used to eat dead meat, bury their daughters alive, were transformed into the most civilized people. The man is Muhammed, sent by GOD to affirm the true message of Moses & Jesus and to make every soul aware of the Hereafter, where every Good and Bad Deed will be weighed and returned.

If it is genuine belief, the answer is yes.

But it is difficult to see how that instant belief could occur. And, remember you still need to confess and feel genuine regret (not just fear of punishment) to obtain forgiveness.

All in all it is a rather large order for someone who is so weak. It is about as likely to happen as it is that you will get up and box a dozen rounds with the world's Heavyweight Champion before you die.

But, then again, Jesus said, "Things impossible for men are possible with God."

if you really are sorry for what you have done, and ask for forgiveness, you will have it. If you are the only person Jesus could have died for, he still would have done it. He still would have hung on that cross, just so you could be forgiven. He loves you that much. He knows that when you are doing wrong, and don't believe, you dont know what your doing. its like when your a kid, and you mom keeps you from doing things that will hurt you. like jumping off the roof, she knows you will get hurt, but you dont. your a kid. jesus is like that. he does not want God to punish you, so he died for you, so you could still mess up, but not have to deal with the punishment. imagine your in court, cuz you broke the law. suddenly the judge says your free to go. how great that would be. that's what jesus does. it does not matter what you have done, if you seek forgiveness, you will get it. you just have to ask for it.

That is you trying to play a game with the devil and thinking that you smarter than him. Who tell if you will have time to be on a death bed, alot of people just die instantly from accidents, crime, etc? That's like playing Russian Roulet. It is possible if you get the chance and you truly believe and repent I think. But why would you rather do that to God when he loves you so much and want you to follow him now when you good and healthy?

Actually, Jesus answered this question Himself with the story about the field owner who went out in the morning, the afternoon, and the evening to get workers for his fields. He paid them all the same. This bothered those who had worked hard all day, but the owner pointed out that he was free to do as he liked with his own money.
Yes, a last-minute conversion is perfectly valid.
