Listen avoid diets and increase your activity. This is what i did but I could cause I was on maternity leave and had time to dedicate to weight loss. Try it I promise it works and it can be used for life I feel great and love going to the gym every day.

If you want to do this it is for life so you need to totally change your way of eating and exercising. This is not a diet rather than a healthy eating plan for life. So no more talking diet cause it means time limit.

Here are the golden rules:
Initially cut down to 1200 (women) - 1500 (men) calories.
Exercise 6 times per week for 1 hours a day. Do three weight sessions and three cardio sessions. No gym involved if you don't have the access.
Don't eat carbs after 4pm, never eat carbs within 2 hours of exercise or within 1 hour of exercise.
Drink 3 litres of water per day. You can have a green tea at the end of the day.
Limit your fruit in take to 2 pieces per day.
Never eat dinner after 6pm.
Adopt of low GI eating plan this is sustainable for life!
Make low fat dairy choices

Follow this menu plan as a suggestion:
Breakfast 7am - 1 cup hot water w lemon
20 minutes later have a bowel of oats w water (no honey) OR
fruit salad w low GI soy yogurt
Snack 10am - pear or apple (both low GI)
Lunch 12.30pm - muligrain sandwich w 50g tuna & salad (no butter)
Snack 3pm - low GI yogurt OR skim berry smoothie (no honey or banana) plenty of ice, 1/2 cup skim milk & 1/4 cup yogurt
Dinner 5.30pm - 120g grilled lean meat/fish/prawns/tofu patties (not fried) w spinach salad & mixed vegies (no whites, carbs) OR 3 egg white/soy omlette with ham, cheese and tomato
Snack - 1 scoop of low cal low fat ice cream (if hungry)

Exercise is must be intense. Refer to www.bodybuilding.com for your weights routine. Never do weights two consecutive days have a cardio day in between.

Cardio needs to include running, go hard up stair wells and cycling. If you have access to a gym include boxing and spin classes as well. You get the most benefits from exercise when your body is totally fatigued and this is when you see changes.

To maintain you can increase calories to 1500 (women) - 1800 (men) and reduce exercise sessions to 3-4 times per week. If weight creeps up again due to holiday period etc.. go back to 1200 (women) - 1500 (men) cal and 6 sessions again.

Good luck it worked for me it can work for anyone.

Stop doing that, there is no 'diet' that is going to work. Follow what you've always heard, eat a balanced meal in correct portions. One thing I've found that has worked for me over the last 3 yrs. is cutting back on how much meat I eat in general. I have cut out red meat a great deal. I may have a burger at least once in 4 - 5 months, if at all. More veggies, fruits and chicken occasionally. Fish or other seafood 2-3 times a week. drinking more water and less juices/sodas. If you really don't feel like eating a full meal or don't feel hungry when it's a meal-time, eat a small fruit for example. But eat something, don't skip meals.

I'm sorry it has been so tough. I've been through it myself. Lifestyle changes and substitutions work for life. It takes longer, but then it has lasted for good. For example: low fat milk instead of whole milk, a piece of fruit instead of candy, lots of water, no soda (use flavored water). Have foods ready to go for those famished times. Cold cereals should be high in fiber and sugar be the 5th or more ingredient listed. Exercise every day. Even 15 minute intervals 3 times a day is just as effective as one 45 minute session. Take the stairs, ride your bike for a few of your errands, park further away from the store, fast walk part of your lunch break. You can do this. Once a week treat yourself to a manicure,a facial,a massage. Enjoy an indulgent dessert every 2 weeks. You deserve it. Weigh yourself once a week at the most.Trust me you can do this. Now that I'm disabled, I really want you to know that using your body is great. Keep going.Eat better foods. I believe in you. If you quit, start again. Good luck.

I sure do! I'm working towards it though and I will get there. I have found watching my food intake and exercising regularly to be the only things that work for me. I have tried tons of diets, with only short term success.

I work out at Curves 3 days a week, walk three days a week and watch what I eat. I stay away from high fat, high carb (and empty carb) foods, staying within 1600 cals a day and drinking plenty of water.

That ideal weight crap is for the birds. I am 5'1 and weigh 172 pounds. I have a large chest and chubby belly. I was told the heaviest I should be is 130 pounds. When I was a senior in high school I was 127 pounds and I look back now ans I was very sickly looking. I actually feel better with weight on me!

well stick with one diet that makes u "feel great" till u hit ur goal my dieting plan is a healthy way i eat 6 healthy meals a day one after breatfast one after lunch and one after dinner but its usualy just like a apple or a bannana or a handful of cherries. then i usally walk 30min every day. now dont try those starfation diets they r horrible! my friend was that way this may sound dumb but she had to learn to eat again. so don't go that way and if the 6 meals a day isnt right for u then walk 30min or walk to the store or somthing ride a bike anything that will keep u active.

I feel just like you do. Food is always going to be there and sometimes we control it and sometimes not. But for me, the key is exercise. It has to become something that you do everyday, like getting up in the morning or taking a shower. So, even when you indulge in something fattening, you can kick up the exercise and work it off. At the very least, exercising 3 days or more a week will help you to maintain weight loss. I wish you luck!

keep tell your self that you dont need all that food.
start to limit your self instead of two bowls of ice cream just have one. try to do portions. do take the whole bag of chips eat like 2 hand fulls you are still getting what you want but just have smaller portions of stuff that you eat.
Because if you go cold turkey and cut the stuff you do like them you are going to go on a bunge so if you have the things that you like to eat just cut it in half.
other example if you are having pizza dont order the large or the xlarge just order a small or a personal pan pizza.
so what i am saying just cut the foods you normally eat in half
And never go shopping on a empty stomach. Tell your self you have to do it

Yes I wish I was the ideal weight. It's hard, I understand where you're coming from. But you'd be surprised how many people are not at their ideal weight.
