I have been dating a guy very casually for about a month and a half. I say very casually because we only see each other once a week or less. We have different work schedules and both have stressful lives. I have two kids and work 40 hours a week. He is working 70+ hours, 6 days a week. He is looking for a job where we could have more quality time together. We have agreed to take things slowly (i.e. no sex). We think about each other all day. We both have confessed how much we love each other. I had no idea that a love like this could exist.

I would love to talk to him everyday, just to see how his day went, but I don't want to nag him. We haven't talked in four days, as he told me that he would call me. He has mild depression and is shy, he also gets embarrassed easily.

How can we keep our relationship going? I don't want to smother him. I think that he is “the one”.

If you have checked into everything, and make sure that hes really working and doesnt have a family on the side, this is actually the best way to start a relationship. You never see each other, so if he thinks your smothering him id end it now , because it will get worse. Enjoy the missing and wanting and needing you feel, because as your relationship develops further, it wont be that way. He'll be smothering you too, lol. Take it slow, it sounds like you both got your heads in the right place and you might end up with a good relationship. Good Luck!

Dont you think its strange that he doesn't want to talk to you everyday ? When a guy likes you he calls everyday. If he was the one he would be calling everyday. I'm sorry, I know you didn't want to hear that but its how I see it. Have you ever not wanted to someone you liked for 4 days ? The mild depression and shyness is your way of making excuses for it.
