When do Blue Claw Crabs molt and when is the best time to get softies?

Soft shell crabs (sometimes called peelers) are actually Blue Crabs BEFORE they harden up.....there's really no "best time" to get them, as far as time of day/month. They do tend to be more plentiful in warmer water, though.
