Are you really overweight as in the doctor told you or do you think you are. Reason I ask is if at your age you start a diet diet you have a high risk of getting an eating disorder. Here is what I would do in your situation and you are probably not going to like the answer. Ditch the junk food, chips, soda, high fat foods.
Start by eating oatmeal for breakfast it will stick with you longer is healhy and it most likely will be less calories than what you are eating now.
Drink water water water. Boring but it fills you up cleans you and it very healthy.
Eat a healthy lunch, yes eat your veggies. Don't do the french fries and not so healty stuff.
Eat a healthy dinner. Again eat your veggies.
For snacks choose fruits instead of snackie type foods
Also drink you milk. regular not chocolate.
No sugary fruit juices read labels corn syrup is not part of the fruitjuice if you want fruit juice.
Read calories.
And do a little portion control.
But most of all it is life style change not just a crash diet and then you get back to what you have been doing. If you eat healthier you will most likely loose some weight slowly but surely.
And try to move. Even at home in your house you can jump, and exercise in front of hte tv Rent an exercise video from the library. Find something you like and stick with it
It is a lifestyle change the rest of your life

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

Well, in order to loose weight, you must cut your calorie consumption and get plenty of exercise. Don't eat so much junk food. Limit yourself to three meals and a snack, and take smaller portions then you are used to. As for the exercising, there are plenty of things you can do without leaving the house. Get some aerobics DVDs and clear a spot in the living room. If this doesn't appeal to you, turn on MTV and make sure you dance vigorously for forty minutes to an hour everyday. The important thing is to keep your heart rate up. Heck, if no body's home you can jump up and down on the couch if you prefer. Just as long as you stick to it for a couple of months. Don't expect to loose it all quickly. The key to healthy weight lose is to realize that it will take time. Good luck!

hey,
Nicole: SAME! i've been trying to lose weight for a very long time, but nothing seemed to work for me until i tried Celebrity Juice, yeah it seems really cheesy but it totally works: all you drink for 2 days is the juice and you can lose up to 10 pounds just by drinking it-no exercising at all & you can get it at a lot of places, like Walgreens or GNC or whatever. Hope this or whatever else you end up doing works for you!
- Paris && Nicole...haha

How do you know you are fat? You didn't even tell your weight.
Eat healthy foods and exercise. Diets and weight loss methods aren't for 12 year olds. You body is still growing, and needs vitamins, minerals, and fats(HDL and LDL, fatty acids, etc) to grow and be healthy.
You can ask your mum to take you to the library and get some books or videos on aerobics. That is a great fat burning method.

Your major problem is that you are sitting in front of your computer right now. At your age, you don't need to diet, but you DO need exercise! Go swimming! Ride your bike! Get out and have fun. :)
If your mother cannot or will not help you with your concerns, when you go back to school, talk to the nutrition director. Can you remember that? The Nutrition Director. Your school should be enforcing a Wellness Policy, and the schools are trying to help children like you who are insecure with or need help with their weight.

Talk to your doctor before you start doing anything. If you only need to lose 20 lbs (and you very well may not need to), you're not fat. In any case, it never hurts to exercise more and eat better. Eat more fruit and vegetables, cut out the junk food, go on walks, play sports, etc. Just use common sense.

Drink lots of water. I was having problems losing weight and I started drinking about 100 ounces a day of water. I found that it not only fills me up in between meals, it helps to flush the fats out of my system and keeps me regular.
I watch what I eat too! Lots of fiber cereals, fruits, vegetables, chicken and fish if you like it. If you eat something salty, be sure to drink lots of water. I will tell you that keeping your body hydrated is an easier way to keep the weight off.
