I heard that coffee helps people lose weight, but its only because of the caffiene. The caffiene wards off hunger. You could get the same effect with an energy drink.
But this only works with regular coffee, not the mocha fraps etc at starbucks. Just straight, drip black coffee. But if you must add to it, at least try to use non-dairy creamer or something fat-free lo-cal substitute, and try to use sugar-free/subsitute sugar stuff.
I wouldn't primarily use coffee as your main source of weight loss. You would have to add excercise and change your eating habbits too.
Good Luck,

I lost 110 lbs by squashing my hunger pangs by drinking coffee (in addition to diet and excercise). Decaf, diet pop or water would work just as well. Coffee is a bit of a metabolism booster, but not enough to be considered effective on those merits.

Indirectly, it may make you gain weight. You drink coffee, then you lose sleep, then you wake up tired, then you try to take comfort on bingeing, then you drink more coffee so you wont sleep...and on and on the cycle goes! Point is, you`ve gained weight in the process!

No. Only eating nutritional foods will make you lose weight! If you just give your body coffee, you will feel hungry - the body's way of letting you know it needs "fuel".

NO! It actually interferes with the insulin cycle to stimulate weight gain. Look (Google) up Metabolic Syndrome X or Insulin Resistance and read up.

A lot if so called "diet pills" contain caffiene. Caffiene acts as a diuretic which makes you pee quicker becasue it dehydrtaes you and draws water out if muscles, tussue, and organs. Not good! So in turn you loose vital fluid, not fat.

not if you put cream and sugar in it. Coffee has caffeine, which is a dieuretic, which (I think) makes you want to drink more--same with if you put lemon in water.
