I saw an infomercial a while ago about a revolutionary new bicycle that allows the rider to sit almost completely upright thus greatly reducing back and shoulder pain when riding. Only now that I'm ready to buy a bike, I can't remember that kind of bike. Anyone know?

the Electa's are cool, but that design was brought out first by Vision cycles a year or two earlier.

You could try a recumbent - a Sun EZ-1 or EZ-Sport are good, entry-level models. Lean back and enjoy!

There are lots of traditional, diamond-frame bikes that can be set up to position the rider more upright (we did this for my wife on a Schwinn hybrid for a while due to back pain, now she rides a recumbent - BikeE).

I wish I had this 2 years ago when I damaged my rotator cuff while showing off. This is very detailed and really gives you the techniques you need to sort out your own shoulder issues and a lot more info such as preventing further injuries. If you have a shoulder keeping you awake at night you'll know it's no laughing matter.
