I believe you have to take the Texas licensing exam. My friend moved from Boston, MA to Los Angeles, CA and had to take the California licensing exam, even though she was licenesed in Boston for years.

it depends if texas requires more hours than florida, if so you have to take the texas exam then you can apply for the license by filling out and application on line or in the state dept. office
I did the same thing when I moved to maryland, I also kept my florida license active just in case I want to do hair in florida

I had to do this. Call the Texas Cosmetology Commission and they will send you all the paper work. If your state requires less hours then all you have to do is get the manager of the salon you work in to sign one of the forms and have it notarized.
