If you read in Genesis 19 about how the people in Sodom wanted to rape the two angels that visited Levi, in which is why God destroyed the city. But if it was sin why didn't he destroy them altogether? If homosexuality is still around today and he created us then what justifies it as sin? If you're going to quote Levitcus then YOU must live by the other laws such as animal sacrificing for sin, fellowship, grain and burnt offerings, prohibiting mixed types of cloths, have sex with your dead husbands brother to get preggers to continue lineage, prohibit from consuming pork, only eat seafood with fins and scales, if you have an infection on your skin you are to go to the priest and you are declared unclean for 7days, and there are many more, so if you are going to apply one law than YOU must apply them all right? Homosexuality is not a sin in God's eyes. The intent of rape in the city of Sodom is detestable to God. So how can you still say that homosexuality is wrong?

again i must say, that people pick and choose which parts of the bible they want to use to reinforce their own beliefs instead of basing their beliefs on what the bible truly says.

For one thing, the angels visited Lot, not Levi ;)
You are right that if we want to follow one part of the law, we should follow all of it, though there are parts of the Law that were revoked when Jesus came. No longer do we offer sacrifices at the temple because Jesus is the final sacrifice, and the temple has been destroyed. Dietary laws are revoked because now all things God created are clean. Such things as mixing fabrics and stuff werent punishable by death or excommunication. Not all the law had the same repercussions. It helps to read the Law and see what the punishment was for breaking each law, and if there was one at all.
I agree though that people should put more effort into other sins than just homosexuality. People seem to accept other sins (like fornication) as if they're no big deal but they're JUST as big a deal Biblically as homosexuality is, so is lying, gossip, pride, starting fights etc... and just a side note... Soddom and Gemmorah were destroyed for their MANY sins, which means it wasnt only homosexuality.

Wow, so much hatred for homosexuality. I wonder if everyone has the same hatred for other evils. I really doubt it.
First, Romans was written by Paul as a letter to the Romans, you cannot take it as literal gospel because of the fact it is was put into the bible after a vote during the council of Nice. Hummmmm man directed bible. Yes we can assume those people on the council of nice were inspired but look at some of the books that are in the Catholic cannon but not in the King James Version. Then you also have the Gnostic gospels. What is right and what is wrong?
As a gay person, who grew up LDS, I have seen more hatred toward homosexuality in my own family than for other sins. Am I any less than any of you, no I am not. Is it a sin to be homosexual, only if your so closeminded that you only accept the bible as the exact word of God and it could not have been changed by man at all in all the translations, councils etc. Arrogance is a human trait. To assume one is always correct leads to pompous behavior and that is a sin because you think that you are better than others.
News Flash for Religious Fanatics: "We are all "God's" children, you are not anymore special than anyone else, get over yourself!"
I am happy with who I am, I would not change anything. I grew up in a anti-gay family, an anti-gay church and a anti-gay world. It is hard to go through each day, but life goes on and I really doubt that how some read the bible, WRITTEN BY MAN, inspired by God? can be the correct way. I always understood that the two final laws that one must follow is to love the Lord, thy God, with all thy heart, might, mind and strength and the second is like unto it, love thy neighbor as thyself. If you have hatred for a person that is homosexual, then I really doubt you love your neighbor.

Please read the rest of the Bible. You will find in Romans 1 that homosexuality is a sin against God. He created us, but he did not create sin. He allows it. He also established in the New Testament that we are not under the old laws that you mentioned in your question. We are under new laws because of the sacrifice of his Son. Many of the old laws, such as the ten commandments, are still applicable today. Some of the old laws where also not established by God but by man as a cultural base for life.
Homosexuality has always been and always will be a sin against God and that fact is all over the Bible. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed not just because of rape, but because of all the sin that was taking place in those two cities and the fact that practiced idolatry. Please do not get "hung-up" on a specific word(s) in the Bible. You must read everything to truly understand all that is being said.
God Bless!

Your right. Homosexuality is not a sin, it is an abomination.
There are more abominations though. So, if you want to call homosexuality what it really is, an abomination, than your right. Not the point you wanted to make though?
Homosexuality is mentioned in many more places than Leviticus. A simple internet search will provide you with verses on that.
A before I get hate mail, check out my profile. I dont think homosexuals are horrible, or detestable, or guilty of sin anymore than anyone else is.

Homosexuality hasn't just been around since the beginning of humanity. Homosexuality has also been observed happening naturally in hundreds of mammalian and avian species. It is part of nature.
Genesis 19 also does not specifically state that homosexuality was the sin of Sodom. It has been read that way, but I feel thta homosexuality is irrelevant to that topic. Reading in the new testament, Jesus implies that the sins of Sodom were based around inhospitality, suspicion and the paranoid treatment of strangers.

Because it was against the nature of what God intended! Read Romans Chapter 1 where it says that "... working that which is unseemly, men with men, women with women.......would reap the ABOMINATION of their own bodies." Sounds like a judgment aginst homosexuality to me. NOT HOMOSEXUALS, HOMOSEXUALITY! God hates the SIN, not the SINNER. HOMOSEXUALS can be healed of their confusion if they let God direct them.
The Scriptures you are quoting are OLD TESTAMENT Law. While we are still bound by law, the COVENANT supporting the law was changed when Christ died on the cross. If it hadn't, then each and every one of us would have to DIE for our sins.

Whether or not it is wrong should be addressed between that person and God.
We are all sinners; no one is better than the other. It is very foolish of man to even think that he can categorize sin - which unfortunately happens today.
Lucky for all of us, there is a way to break from the chains of sin - Jesus.

as far as living as Levitcus tell us, that was when they lived under law. We not live under grace. Jesus died on the cross for us, and was the final blood slain for our sins. As far as weather homosexuality is a sin or not, that is some kind of personal question a person has to ask god. I believe that it is a sin, and i would not do it. but it's not my place to tell other people, other than my children, what is ok or not ok for them to do. you are responsible for yourself.

I don't believe that homosexuality is a sin. How can you believe that someone should be refused their right to have love, only because our world condemns two men(or two women) loving each other?
