Well, mind yourself to be careful when saying "women," because some might read that as "all women." Obviously, all women don't do that. I have had two kids, and I am still thin with relatively long hair (more about medium length). Some women even started out as overweight and/or with short hair, so it wasn't a change when they got married. So, the statement doesn't apply in all cases.

However, in the case that you mentioned, where the woman stopped caring about her appearance, it's probably because she felt like she only needed to impress long enough to get married... or perhaps after you realize your partner's seen you with the morning hairdo and smelled morning breath, then what is there to fear by being seen as less than ideal?

Yes, men can do it too, but that doesn't mean it's not a problem, no matter who it is done by.

Also, consider that sometimes when people get married, they stop dating. I think if you can pick occasions where appearance is important, instead of always slouching around the house, it will give some motivation to care about appearance again. I hope that helps some...

because they have to take care of the child and work and clean and do everything else, therefor taking on the roles of both parents because they have a lazy husband who is worthless. kidding. do people really think when they ask these questions? are you married? did your wife cut her hair and start growing a beard? and if so, then ok but you can't turn opinions and one case into facts of why women do the things they do. shorter hair is easier to keep up with and when you have a child you don't have time to curl each and every strand of your hair, and plus , why would you want to look good for a guy who thinks like that anyways?? simple minded creatures who love lazy boys and pizza, and your going to bag on girls...ha

I found in my case, my husband stopped putting in any effort to make me feel as beautiful as he tried to make me feel when we were dating. When I stopped receiving such attention, I stopped trying.
Also, I cut my hair VERY short for about a year, as trying to keep up with my hair while trying to do everything else was just too much of a hassle.
Basically, it's kind of hard to find a happy medium, but I guess we do the best we can. I think if more husbands helped out, and kept showing that appreciation for her, she'd put more effort into herself. I know now that I would have.

Because they don't realize that just because they've got the man, doesn't mean they don't have to look good anymore. Hellooooo? when he fell in love witchu u looked gud and took care of yourself and were sexy to him, dats y he fell 4u. Short hair is more comfortable, and people do things for themselves, not for others. It short hair doesn't appeal to you, find someone who agrees with you. A women has alot of pressure in their society, and don't need people like you to tell them. Why don't you try having a child, putting on all that weight and getting rid of it. If you don't like it... DON'T have kids, find someone who agrees with you and live happy. How unappreciative of the opposite sex,
For you: why who married men drink beer and get beer bellies, and forget the respect they showed before marriage (opening doors for women, pulling out a seat, planning trips...)

I cut my hair b/c I got tired of hubby hanging around the bathroom door whining that it took me too long to style it. Not too short, though. Didn't get fat...we work out together.

Well when a woman is in a relationship with a guy they plan when they see eachother so the woman always looks her best but when thy're married there stuck around each other so much that some woman decide F*** it he's stuck with me anyway.

I have always wondered the same thing. They look like their heads are too big when they cut it so short. I have seen women look unrecognizable from their marriage pictures after one year of marriage. Sad.
