New York and Californian accents are SOOOOO sexy, they're really great. Rrroooarrrr!

I was once Atlanta and having a beer after work at a bar near the place I was visiting with some work colleagues. Anyway female friend of one of the American guys told my English chum that I had a very sexy accent. Shame she told him after I had gone back to the hotel. Ho hum. So are you on the prowl for an Englander then?

I think people in the UK in general like American accents - some American women can sound a bit nasal, but otherwise it is quite pleasant. I'm surprised that you don't think you have an accent though, after all Americans don't all have the same accent, I suppose it's like people from the south east of England who also don't think they have an accent. It probably helps that here in the UK we get lots of American TV and films so I'm not sure what speakers of other languages think.

I did work for tracfone as a customer agent. Had the same problem too. Actually, accent in this sense would mean speaking differently from the local ones. A british national may be considered to have an accent if he were speaking in the USA and vice versa.

I guess it depends on the place you come from, just like with English accents as there are some that grate on me. It also depends on the person listening to the accent too. I've found that my taste for accents has changed over time too!

There s no such element as a British accent. Britain is made from 4 international locations: Scotland, England, Northern eire and Wales yet when I had to respond to, i might want to say the southern English accent

I don't know... There are so many different accents within the country anyway. I'm not a fan of the southern or Brooklyn accents (personal opinion), but everything else is fine.

He was flirting with you...!
I'm British and I love the American accent, you all sound so cool and confident to me and I feel very uncool and pompous by contrast. When I say words like 'tomato' or 'banana' my US friends are in stitches. Vive la difference! Having said that, I care more about what people are actually saying, rather than the accent!

I'm from the UK. I guess i like the American accent, but to be honest it doesnt bother me, we have so many of you on the TV and stuff over here it's like beceome a hybrid of our own accent. But it's you who seem to like the English accents huh?

I don't know, but I used to work in a call center, too and I would get that response from people that live in the US that are from different parts of the country.
