I would like to emphasize that I am not overweight, and my face is not fat. I just seem to have some excess skin (maybe not even a full double chin) that is unwanted. And I was wondering if there is anything that can be done to target that area only. Thank you for any useful suggestions. :)

No. In short, you lose the double chin by fixing the weight problem behind it. Generally, people with double chins have a weight problem and by reducing your food intake, the fat will come off. It's just not as soon as people would like.

There is no such thing as spot reduction to melt away fat. Most of the products out there that make those claims are fake. Sure, you could try plastic surgery, but that comes at a cost.

My suggestion to lose the double chin: diet down, track your calories (both intake and expenditures) on a site such as http://www.fitday.com and get some exercise (anything that generates a sweat will do).

Double-chin is definitely caused by being fat overall, but there are a few things that you can do to make it less noticeable, besides trying to lose weight.Do neck-rolls whenever you are free. And also, make sure your head is not too elevated when you sleep.Use a thinner pillow if you can afford one. They do help with the double-chin problems. But,do try to lose weight & exercise. It will help you get rid of it,one & for all.Good luck.
