A Jew would not refer to anyone as moshiach in the past tense. The moshiach will bring about all the prophecies while alive or he is not the moshiach. If Yeshua was the moshiach, we'd have known it.
This supports the contention among most experts of Josephus' writings that the sections where there is a seeming hagiographical entry about Yeshua are later interpolations.

Exactly. Other sections of the Josephus manuscripts show clear signs of being tampered with... and who held the main libraries of manuscripts? The church. It seems much more likely that someone inserted the christos word (a title, not a name) into the text.

Who says he did? Sounds like a corrupted manuscript. The insertion doesn't go with the body copy. It's like listening to a government plant. Tone of voice, topic of conversation, body english, all affectation or outright lies. Including: Timing.
