I am not sure if hair dye will do it or not. But there are some ways to treat it without using harsh chemicals. One way is to saturate your hair in vegetable oil and cover it in plastic overnight. Sounds strange, but my sister got lice while I was pregnant and I couldn't use the chemicals. You can also use mayonaise. They sound weird, but they're healthier than if you use the chemicals.

No. The best way to get rid of lice and nits are to buy lice removal shampoo and lice+nits removal stuff. I'll give you some tips how to clean your house from lice.
Tip #1- Vacuum your carpet or mop your floors.
Tip #2- Take your pillow[s] and put them in a bag or trash bag {if your pillow is big.}
Tip #3- Don't share your brushes or combs. That will pass your lice on to someone else.
Tip #4- Do not shake your hair everywhere. That will cause the lice to jump over to someone elses hair.
Tip #5- Clean you bed.
That are all the tips I can give you. Do not take harsh chemicals and use it on your hair. That will give you scalp irritation or hair damage.

No. Try shampoo mixed with tea tree oil. Leave it on over night the first time to smother the lice, then keep using it to shampoo hair the normal way for two weeks, because it won't kill all the eggs and they will keep hatching. You also have to launder all clothing, sheets etc. that your hair came in contact with, or put it in the freezer for 24 hours, and vacuum your carpets. Some children are sensitive to tea tree oil, so ask a doctor before using it on a small child.

No. Use the store bought medicated lice removal stuff. It cost the same as hair dye. And wash every single thing in your home.

I don't know.
You should not waste anytime.
Just go buy RID, the shampoo and the spray.
Spray you car seats, couch, chairs and carpet.
Wash all bedding in hot water and dry on high heat in the dryer.
ONLY use the shampoo/gel as directed. It is a pesticide.
If you have small children read the direction carefully.
You may have to get something else for them at the doc.
Good luck.
