Do you find it icky when family members talk about sex? My cousin just got married and his wife always says that they're not doing it enough. I'm officially grossed out. No, she doesn't talk to him about it, she goes to my mom and talks about it when I'm around. Remember, I'm 14 so, it's really gross to think about your cousin doing it. I can't even stand to know about my parents!! Ugh!! It's really pissing me off. Should I just cope with it, or ask them to stop talking about it while I'm around?

leave the room and then politely and privately alert them to what you just wrote...youre doing nothing wrong by choosing not to hear about someones personal private life especially at your age

Sex is a part of life. And there are healthy ways of talking about it and not-so healthy ways. It shouldn't be the topic itself that grosses you out (but at 14 that would make sense) but the way they are talking about it does seem a little inappropriate. Just leave the room. Zone out, put on headphones, OR just whip up a big conversation how Becky from school who's 13 is the the biggest s l u t, and get just as graphic as they are. They will be SHOCKED that you are talking all this sex crap. Then when they ask you to stop just let them know that you were learning from them that it is TOTALLY OK to talk openly about other peoples sex lives.

You know you can leave the room whenever they are talking about sex. Or, do like my daughter does(which is 14) when we are taking about something she gets grossed out by. Put earphones on and turn the music up.

I am much older than you and I find it icky when certain peolpe talk about sex. It really embarrasses me, when that happens I change the subject or walk out of the room. Most people are just showing off when they talk about sex.

It doesn't hurt to mention to them that you feel uncomfortable with them talking about sex in front of you. They should respect you for that. They might giggle or laugh when you say it, but tell them that you are serious and that it is not what you want. Don't cope with it. It'll only make it worse.

You can ask them to not talk about it when you are around. If not you always have the option to leave the room when the subject comes up.

Either cope with it or leave the room. Adults talk about sex. It is only natural!

I think you should just politely say "Can you talk about this when I'm not around?" They will realize that it makes you uncomfortable and that should be the end of it. Good luck!

I think it's inappropriate that they're talking about it in front of you. I would tell your mom that you're uncomfortable about it. then she can handle it with your cousin's wife.

I do not understand why they would even want to discuss such a subject in front of you. By all means tell them how you feel.
